And that's without thinking much, The reality is that the NFL has more than twice as many players at any given time, and overall goes thorugh 3 or 4 times as many players as the turnover is so high in pro ball. So when you factor in the difference scope and the difference in demographics the NHL is far from lilly white.
Haha ya I actually paused before I wrote it, as I knew I'd get some names thrown back at me(Dan Kordic and Theo Fleury being others). I'm not tryin to slag the league or anything, as like I mentioned before, its my bread & butter. I just meant there seems to be a different type of attitude in your average NHL player than you find in NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. Which is why I mentioned how even Jim Rome was saying he notices a considerable difference when he interviews an NHL'er compared to the other sports.

Adam Archuletta was cut.

And Chris Henry is being released from electronic monitoring so he can try out for another team (please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners, please don't let it be the Niners)

Thought everybody might find this interesting, NFL Shop has customizable gear now. I'm planning on getting this T-shirt:

Custom front/back: http://www.nflshop.com/product/index...entPage=family

Saints Louisiana logo on the front, Cajun Cannon #3 on the back.

Cool stuff. I saw that MLB.com had that last week. Looking forward to ordering one cool Chiefs shirt.

So NFL channel is talking about the tapes that the old patriots guy will be sending to the league tomorrow.

Sounds like he has 6 tapes with 5 games on them. All focussed on picking up other coaches signals, similar to what was found earlier this year.

Did you notice this?

I wonder if the saints are changing up the font on their jerseys for next year ...kinda like the patriots font.

Interesting. I still wish they'd thin the numbers a bit and make the outline bigger, I think the golds have always looked too blocky. Also, weird they're sellin it as #79, considering he was assigned jersey #90 for mini-camp. I'd hold off buying any rookie jersey before making sure we know what jersey # they're actually going to be wearing(ie. Bush going from #5 to #25, Meachem from #85 to #17).

I heard somewhere that it was an oversight.

As long as they don't go arena league like the Broncos uniforms, I'll be o.k. with it...

That wouldn't surprise me. Wasn't this jersey available the same day Ellis was drafted? Probably just a way to get a quick cash grab from all those people busting over the Ellis draft pick. I mean how could they start selling his jersey when they don't even know what # he's going to be?

I doubt the NFL is that stupid. There would be an uproar if they were selling jerseys with the wrong number. I'd guess near 100% chance he is 79, or at least they will hold on the order until the number is official.

As for the broncos jersey that has grown on me since they started ... that's actually a good poll since it's May and there is no football to talk about.

Best jerseys:
1. Chargers
2. Falcons
3. Texans

Worst jerseys:
1. Bengals (granted they aren't working with much when they are stuck with the bengal motif)
2. Seahawks (blue jersey with white pants would be fine, blue with blue looks silly)
3. Giants (the grey pants make them look slower)

Edit: I see Ellis # is 90 on the saints roster. You'd probably end up with a 90 in the mail, but uncertainty I'm sure will keep everyone from ordering. If I remember right 79 was his USC number.

Good suggestion on the uniform poll. Though we couldn't be more different!

Unis I like (no order):
Saints, Giants, Cardinals, Seahawks, Bills, Texans, Redskins, Chargers.

Not so much:
Broncos, Falcons, Vikings, Ravens, Bengals, Rams, Titans.

As a rule, I think too many different patches of fabric on one piece of clothing just looks too busy.

I've always had issues with NFL Shop - they wouldn't ship the stuff I wanted to Canada, and I couldn't find it in Canada. I wonder if the Bills playing a few games up here will change that a bit.

You know your team isn't the model franchise it once was when the NFLShop's Top 5 Products for your team includes a replica jersey for a player you released 2 months ago.

I think he wore #49 with the Trojans. Who knows where that #79 came from on that NFL Shop page, considering he's now wearing #90. Maybe they asked him what number he was planning on wearing and he said #79, who knows? It just seems rushed to me. I'd seriously wait before purchasing any rookie jersey until at least TC, just to be sure on the jersey #. I'm sure there were alot of people walking around wearing Reggie Bush #5 Saints jerseys in the spring/summer of '06(which you could purchase from nflshop.com).

As for the poll, tough call, but I'd have to say,

Best unis:
1. Houston Texans(alternate red jersey/white pants) - always liked their helmets, and LOVE the deep red alternate jersey with the navy blue helmet. The red jersey/red pants combo was awful though.
2. Detroit Lions- love that new blue with the silver helmet/pants, and the #'s seem to jump out at you.
3. Cleveland Browns- I'm a huge fan of retro unis in any sport. It doesn't get much more retro(or original, with brown jerseys and no logo) than the Browns. Love it.

Worst unis:
1. Minnesota Vikings- was never big on the purple/yellow to begin with. But these new ones, with the white siding, are just plain fugly.
2. Carolina Panthers- I usually like the blue/silver combo(see my #2 choice for best uni), but that neon blue is tacky. Which is weird, because whenever they wear their all-blue jersey, I don't mind it. But the black with the blue outline is awful.
3. Tennessee Titans(dark blue jersey)- I actually like their light blues, but I'm not big on this one. I dont like the XFL-looking logo, or the hockey-style shouldering. I dont necessarily hate this one, I had a tough call with the #3 choice here. There's alot more jerseys in the league which I really like compared to ones I don't.

All-time favourites would be the Elway-era(pre-Super Bowl) Denver Broncos unis(loved the helmets especially), followed by the Houston Oilers.

Same here. I was lookin for a Saints hat back in '02, back in the days when it was impossible to find Saints merchandise. So I went to nflshop.com(this is in the pre-Ebay days, or at least before I knew about it). I had never used NFL Shop before, and finally found a hat. So I ordered one, and it took em 3 months to send it. I finally called em up tryin to figure out the sitchy, they said it had just been sent and would arrive in about a month. Fast-forward another two months, still no hat. So I email em again, and here we are 5 months later, and now they're sayin it was never sent at all, and they could sent it tomorrow. I told em to forget it and just refund me. Never used it again(not to say this happens to everybody. Just first impressions mean alot).

You had to know that Bush was never going to wear number 5 in the NFL. Its against the rules.

As for NFL jerseys. I don't really dislike any of them. Some older jersey's that I thought were ugly at the time I think are really cool now. Old Bucs creamsickle jerseys for instance. I collect NFL McFarlane's and I get excited every time a figure is released with a retro jersey, ie. Derrick Brooks in the creamsicle uniform, or Deon Sanders in the old Falcons Red, Grey and white uniform.

It's funny, because I remember a couple years ago when that all first came up, I was firmly behind Bush in hoping that he'd be able to wear #5. But now two years later looking back on it, I realize how ridiculous that whole thing was, I can't believe he actually petitioned the league to change the rules just so he could wear #5. I guess I was just all caught up in the "we just drafted Football Jesus" excitement.

And ya I hear ya on the retros. I remember not thinkin the Hartford Whalers or Minnesota North Stars unis were that great at the time, but looking back on it now, I LOVE those unis! Same with the Nords, and the 80's Flames. I think when you see the retros it just reminds you of the good old days, it brings back lots of memories.
