So Conroy is looking to make a hockey trade. In an era when the pure hokey trade is virtually extinct. The Flames are setting a very challenging course for themselves.
That is a really bad package with some substandard prospects, Conroy did the right thing walking away.

Yes that should be a big concern, especially with Tre being there now.

Not sure paying another winger 10M is a good move.

I think there is a much better than 50% chance that one of Hanifin or Nylander has the Leafs/Flames on their no trade list so a deal wouldn’t be able to happen.

I don't think Hanifin would be any part of a Nylander trade. I think Lindholm is the only way Nylander ends up in Calgary.

Conroy is in an unenviable position.

Are you getting paid to show up every day and be a fan? Are you dealing with millions of dollars in contracts that are expiring next year with a soft market or just s### talking on the internet? I'll take being a volunteer fan over paid GM of this mess thank you very much.

Man if Calgary was not a hockey market not sure you would sell 2500 season tickets with this roster.

It’s the same roster, pretty much.
Edit: I wasn’t buying tickets for Tofolli

But now with a rookie coach and losing its leading scorer.

I worry that if Mr Cheap Murray Edwards is unwilling to retain salary on Hanifin and Lindholm, the pool of buyers will be very small and we won't get full value for them.

If the Flames are looking to make a hockey trade, then I think they are going to get terrible value.

The coach was terrible last year. And what are the odds the leading scorer last year would be the leading scorer this year?

I am not saying it’s all rainbows and roses, but it isn’t all bad.
Young guns still managed to fill the building for the most part.

We’ll still have a leading scorer.

I'm of the belief that if goaltending held up last season the team would have been a force in the playoffs. Not sure what this season will shake out as though.
