It’s the climate of these guys. They are ok with mediocrity and know how to grease the wheels of the mediocre machine. Meanwhile fans at one time payed 10 bucks a beer to watch mediocrity year after year. One year 3 prairie boys and a finish goalie did their best. In 89 a real good team were gifted a path to the finals by Steve smith.

Blame Treliving all you want but when's the last time ownership has been willing to pay a top coach? From my memory, the answer is never

This team isn't a playoff team the way they are playing to start this season. There is a lot of time to turn it around, but they have a long way to go to get their details and effort level figured out.

What's the same, the number one goalie that's brand new to the team, or myriad other players that are brand new? I mean I know it's always the players fault even when they haven't played for the team before, but seriously.

You can see how teams play against us with no Benny. Everyone is taking chances and feeling good. When he’s out there defenceman and play makers in the neutral zone have their heads in a swivel looking for Benny.

This team is fragile.

God I would have loved to have seen this team with a good coach just once before this roster’s cycle comes to a close, but that hope is gone.

Most disappointing piece for me during the Treliving era has been the 0 for 3 on coaching hires. I don't know if it's him or the organization being unwilling to sign an upper tier proven coach, but either way, what you're seeing tonight is what you get.

I get that it's on the players too, but the system being used isn't working. Players look lost, slow, don't know where to go with the puck. Very broken right now.

I actually like Treliving quite a bit, but 0 for 3 on coaching hires is a critical shortcoming.

Too bad. Great start from Monahan and Gaudraeu, finally have a legitimate goalie, Tanev and Hanifin a revelation, but no coaching.

Well it is not like over his 7 years Brad has built a team that looks like it could be elite with a better coach. Maybe more consistently average, but unlikely to be elite.
