Treliving should have hired Vigneault when he was available. This team looks so lost. We’ve led by 3 goals in a game a grand total of 1 time this year and that was against the worst defensive team in the league.

I’m imagining an impassioned speech from Geoff Ward in the dressing room. Something like, “stay the course boys, if we don’t change anything we’re bound to keep it to under a 5 goal deficit. Don’t want them running away this”.
Then he gently pats the garbage can and leaves it where it is, knowing that changing anything in anyway would be disasterous.

Ward’s breakout is slow by design. It allows the opposition to take their ideal defensive positioning, meaning they get to play defence exactly how they want. Every play is challenged, there’s no open ice resulting in players making ugly plays while under pressure.

Geoff Ward is the worst coaching hire this organization has made.

God I would have loved to have seen this team with a good coach just once before this roster’s cycle comes to a close, but that hope is gone.

Also, the forward depth is complete junk - so that’s on Tree, as is the Ward hire.

I'm not sure what Flames fans expect. You're only some objectivity away from recognizing that this is an average team, with an average GM, a below average coach, and an above average goaltender.

I had no idea so many teams were shut down from Covid. Other divisions feel like they're in a totally different league this year, I've paid 0 attention to them

He seems like he's the type of guy that thinks he can help, but the coaching staff doesn't believe in him.

In all honesty, even if he was dressed he'd be low on minutes tonight and wouldn't have made a difference.

Which is insane considering the last coaching gems Treliving has hired. What is he thinking...

Backlund awful turnover leads to a goal against... Right back out there for the next shift.

Those kind of decisions are 100% coaching.

We've passed up so many quality coaches over the years for nobodies it's staggering. The next GM will do the same. Ownership is willing to spend to the cap every year, but when it comes to paying even a half decent coach there's no chance.
