Well if it was Darryl Sutter who said that, you could pretty much pack Hamilton's bags.
Luckily, Treliving keeps things a lot closer to the vest.

That was my gut too - probably a lot of interest in Hamilton but that doesn't mean the Flames are shopping him or that they feel like they "need" to move him.

Meh I wouldn't believe anything he says. The Flames are always tight lipped and it will stay that way.

I hope the next 24-30 hours are exciting in the NHL! This is the most exciting time in the off-season, I want to see some freaking trades!

I’m all for sports stations talking about other sports but Rogers is trying way too hard to force the Jays on their stations. I like the Jays but they suck again and nobody cares again.

I think the big thing here is the word shopping, not people.
Treliving isn't shopping anyone. Shopping implies a desire to trade a player, and he's going around asking "what would you give me for this player".
It's why Tree can say that he's honestly not shopping anyone. He's out there shopping for players, he's not shopping his own (players).

I just got off a plane from Calgary to LA and am going to the game tonight. The flight had a ton of Jays fans on it who are apparently doing the same. You’re wrong.

The Feaster era focused on rebuilding; it focused on youth, speed and skill. When was the last time Calgary drafted a perennial all-star before that, when was the last time you were openly optimistic and excited about a prospect before that? Dion is the only prospect I can remember being excited about in the 10 or 15 years before Feaster. Pretty bleak.

I think you’re remembering it wrong. Feaster refused to even discuss rebuilding until his teams sucked so hard that they were forced to. Before that he tried to sign Brad Richards to an insane deal. He dealt Regehr and kept Sarich instead. He got next to nothing for Iginla and Bouwmeester who still had a year left on his deals. He almost gave up Monahan for O’Reilly. Iginla should’ve been traded a year or two before he did. Did you forgot the fool me twice? He threatened to trade players one deadline if they didn’t show anything and then we stunk it up and he traded nobody.
Feaster was a disaster through and through. Thank god Brad Richards didn’t sign here.

Also, for what it's worth, it was just myself and @Fan960Steinberg at a media availability with Treliving.... very quiet.
Media knows they will not get anything out of Brad so don't even show up, lol

He's 26 years old and has a career .915 save percentage and you're telling me you can't even get a 3rd or 4th round pick for his rights?
Guess having to qualify him at above $4M isn't great but still...

IIRC he’s been reported to be a huge ahole to basically everyone and is one of those “all goals are my teammates’ fault” types.

Feaster inherited a team with the worst collection of under-26 players and prospects in the NHL. And there's no way the decision on whether to rebuild was left in Feaster's hands. Not with Murray Edwards and Ken King running the show. It's hard to blame Feaster for the return on Iginla when Iginla gave him a list of only four teams he'd accept a trade to, and then put the kibosh on a trade to one of those teams at the last minute.
