went down to Eau Claire and Prince Island Park last night and boy I've never seen so many people trying to catch Pokemon, haha. I managed to get some pretty decent ones while down there. Best one I caught all night was a 950+ Slowbro.

I've also never stayed out till 5am just to CATCH pokemon, last time I stayed up that late was when I was getting plastered.

My question that I don't know the answer to is is it cheaper to upgrade them to max CP before or after you evolve them.
Not sure I understand...
You are saying if I upgrade a Pidgy to Piggotto it doesn't matter if it is 10 CP or 250, it will evolve the same, based on my level?

The further along the curve pre-evolution the stronger it will be after it evolves. The cost of powering up your pokemon, both pre and post evolution is about the same depending how far right on the curve your pokemon's CP is.

Game wouldn't login on my way into work at 630, missed like 20 pokestops

I was pretty excited when I found a 550ish Hypno at level 8.

I am now level 13 and he is still my best guy. Meanwhile, I'm seeing level 12s at the gym with 1200 Snorlax' or other super powerful guys.

I should be able to use my 400 drowzee candies to make a super Hypno or something.

The problem is Dust, it appears to be the most scarace resource in the game. If you want to spend it now go for it but when you get to level 15 or so you will be getting 400+ CP drowsies that turn into 700-800 CP Hypno's. If you play in gyms lots It might be worth it. For me I am just stock piling dust until I figure out what I want to do.

You'll eventually find drowzees with that high of CP. Save your candy until at least level 15.

How do you have such high level rare ones. You must have found a bunch to level up to such high level.

Hatched Snorlax around 1700 and powered him up, found Arcanine and Slowbro in the wild, and evolved a ~550 Drowzee for the Hypno, and a ~600 Eevee for the Vaporeon.

Bwahaha, Nintendo's stock price going back down as investors finally realize Nintendo didn't make Pokemon Go.

True, but they still own something like a 33% stake in the company that did.

13% economic interest in the game, I read.

This whole "catch a combination of 70 Pidgey/Rattata/Spearow/Drowzee/Zubat's for every 10 something else" is really discouraging

On the other hand, it makes catching that rare Pokeman all the sweeter.

Plus, I've caught so many Pidgeys, Rattatas, and Weedles that when I do my 'evolve spree' for XP I should be able to clear 3 levels in a single swoop. Probably more if I decide to take another walk in downtown Red Deer today.

Caught an ivysaur today.
Only 300-ish, but that's the first time I've seen a non-squirtle starter.

You mean a game with minimal revenue generating add ons and no ads and no product placement isn't a money tree? Shocker.

They'll put ads in and start charging for BS soon enough though and fix this.
