Playing Big Ern would be really really stupid. So many options that could contribute more to this series than him, and I love the guy. Add the fact Adirondacks season doesn't end till Sunday night so they aren't even able to call him up till after that anyways and this whole conversation becomes pretty much finished. He can't play in game 3 so he won't.
Adirondack's season will be over before Game 3 starts. Their final game starts at 3:00pm MT on Sunday.
AFAIK, McGrattan is still in Calgary on leave for his child's birth.
I don't know all the rules for recalls after the AHL season, but he could potentially get recalled Sunday prior to Game 3. Although, I doubt he will, and if he does, I doubt he'll play.

Once Adirondack's season is over, there's no more recall limit.

Forgive the ugly link (my phone is on drugs), but there is a video linked in the story showing the entire brawl. I'm blown away by the officiating. Besides Stajan needing help, I can't figure out how Engalland ended up with three game misconducts. And I'd suggest Hamhuis is not as innocent as he indicated.
Most concerning to me is that the team was nowhere close to winning this game
If you take away the atrocious start, it's a 1-1 game (empty better doesn't happen). They really need to get off to a good start Sunday if they want to have a chance. Also would like to see them put some more pucks to the net.
Didn't see the third period, but Ferland has a history of losing it and it looks like he did tonight
He didn't "lose it" at all. Far as I'm concerned, he did everything right.
He tried to run a guy through the glass, which is good. Granted, he took a (questionable) penalty on it, but he did actually break the glass, and every player on the Canucks bench knows that.
Then at the end he went after the wimp who was trying to rattle Gaudreau.
Yes I did. I can do that. And also, "Is this the real world" is ALREADY played out and boring as a meme.
Fun fact: that meme first appeared the same year the Flames were last in the play-offs!
Sorry if I caused anger - I meant it as a light-hearted joke to express surprise that a person on the internet might accept new information; likely influenced by coming across plenty of gifs and videos of the Russell fall onto Bonino from the angle where it makes it look similar to the Byfuglien cross-check, as if the angle showing Russell losing his footing due to Bonino's skates doesn't exist (even from a no good Oilers fan twitter account, shouldn't they be having a Draft-eve party tonight?)
Probably should thrown in the green text and a comment that I wasn't aware of the non-existance of re-entry waivers until relatively recently myself. GFG

Probably been discussed, but here's some info on the Engelland misconducts:
1 - for instigating in final 5 minutes
2 - for fight in final 5 minutes
3 - for second fight in final 5 minutes
Hamhuis' version is that Engelland was beating on Dorsett while he was in the ice, so he rushed over and the linesman told him and Dorsett to restrain Engelland.

So Engelland needs to be retrained but Richardson doesn't?
Man these officials are clueless.

There are two things that I voluntarily searched for on the internet that make me wish I could go back in time and stop myself from doing such. The first is the Budd Dwyer video. The second is that tweet. I wanted to throw up.
Because of that and all the other bullcrap that happened in this game I suddenly have a nagging urge to go to downtown Vancouver and start swinging at MF'rs left, right and center. #### that franchise and its horrible fan base.

Watching the video, it was hard to see when Dorsett dropped his gloves, but from this photo, he had to have dropped them before Engelland because you can see Engelland drop his just before Richardson and Stajan fall down and you don't see Dorsett drop his, so they must have already been off before Engelland dropped his.
How can Engelland get the instigator when he wasn't even the first one to drop his gloves? Plus, from what I saw, he didn't throw a punch until Dorsett did (both times).

If there's any truth to that (and I doubt there is), the linesman should be fired on the spot. What a load of crap.
It's amazing how Dorsett becomes the toughest guy on the ice once Hamhuis shows up.

Obviously I haven't read through the whole thread but here are my takes:
CBC's cameraman needs to lay off the liquor. Keep the camera on the puck please.
Jim Hughson needs to acknowledge the two teams playing are not the friends and the enemies. It's the Flames and the Canucks, both teams make good plays and bad plays. You can't just choose to ignore what you want.
n/m
CBC needs to review their whole organization and see where the issues lie, because as a whole it seemed like the entire broadcast had a hardcore Vancouver bias and it was hard to watch. My brother who doesn't even like hockey was screaming at Simpson and Hughson to STFU with their disgusting one-sided commentary.
All in all I hope Rogers goes under with their stupid broadcasting arrangement, that put TV rights ahead of maintaining talented staff. When TSN starts broadasting playoff hockey again I'll be able to listen to it without the mute function. Hughson, Randorf and Romanuk? Rogers you're being outclassed by NBC this is pathetic.
