I thought Ferland played a great game. When game 2 gets out of hand like that, Ferland did exactly what you want by setting the stage for the home games.

He took a penalty in the process, but nothing he did was over the line. It may have contributed to the brawl at the end by not going silently, but IMO that's on the refs for not taking control of the game.

Ferland was finishing every hit out there, and being a mean SOB. Good on 'em!

Ferland is the "pest" I respect. Burrows/Cooke/Lapierre/ect are the kind I hate.

Hartley's post game comments seemed to fully endorse Ferland and the game he played. We've been missing that kind of player for a while and it's nice to see him out there throwing hits and getting under people's skin.

What's the dirtiest thing Ferland did? Nothing. What's the dirtiest thing the Canucks did? attack a downed player, one of the scummiest things you can do. A legitimately recognized and respected part of the hockey code that I've never actually seen broken until tonight.

And then people are chastising the Flames. Derek Engelland gets a suspension for being attacked by 2 players at once after receiving a sucker punch..... am I ####ing taking crazy pills or what here? ####!

I absolutely love Ferly after his game tonight. Standing up against every Canuck player and causing havoc. I bet he gets a ton of respect from his teammates, especially the veterans.

I just wish Bouma was healthy.

Ferland getting the entire Canucks bench standing up and yelling at him (including the backup goalie) as he skates off means he`s getting in their heads. I love it.

Another issue with the refs (not sure if it mentioned in the GT). Ferland on our bench beaking and 2 Canucks on their bench beaking, one linesman facing Ferland patting him on the crest and the other linesman standing at the Canucks bench with his back to the bench ignoring them. Top notch effort there stripes.

As a Canucks fan, I love you. I know I'm gonna get banned but I love the irony of the self righteous flame fans. You guys know you are not immune to the stuff you preach

I like Ferland a lot.

However I'm worried about his ability to stay with control and not reach full on rage mode. Burrows and Bieksa are pretty much professional trolls, because god knows they suck at hockey. One of the few things they're good at is getting inside people's head, and I was concerned when the showed the footage of burrows chirping at Ferland at the beginning of the game.

Ferland has to recognize that the Canucks don't have an answer for his physicality so they'll try to neutralize that through taking advantage of him being a rookie and getting him to play near the line and hopefully cross it.

I dunno, I consider myself pretty tame to half the stuff in this thread. Regardless, my interest in this series did a complete 180 today. Flames are a good team, just inexperienced and injured. I expect fireworks off the draw on Sunday.

same here... worries me a bit, but thems the breaks.... we're a developing team, 2nd year into a rebuild. Ferland might make a few mistakes here and there, but he's got a whole career ahead of him in Calgary. Not gonna just be this playoff series.

My hate for the Vancouver Canucks had slowly decreased since 2011. Tonight, it all came back. What a pathetic organization and fan base. I am so proud of our team and fans. We are all above them and I hope we continue to take the high road.
