Even $300 for ice level seats.
You have to have some concept that these seats are not available at any Canadian cities except for season ticket holders with a huge waiting list of other season ticket holder waiting for the privlege to buy these seats and a list of people without season ticket behin them.
Are things in Detroit that shaky?

You need to re-read what I responded to. He was talking about the price difference between glass seats and row 10 seats. You even acknowledge that point in one of your posts.

Ice level is $300.
And that, very likely, is the walk up price. STHes would have gotten it cheaper.

Meh, seems strange to me..I wouldn't pay that much to sit that low..I've sat that low in the dome and I perfer to sit in my seats 13 rows up from the ice..You can see the play way better..Dome seating is done in section pricing http://flames.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=40762 ..Say if you're in the the red 1 section, It wouldn't matter if you're in row 1 or row 13 it's all the same price is it not?
EDIT..Ok I see how Ottawa does it..They section it out way more than Calgary.

There is no walk up price as there are no tickets available. At stub hub there are 445 tickets left for the second round first game...
10 left in the lower bowl at centre ice cheapest 425 and 4 at $629.
Does anyone have an example where they just went and bought tickets for a SC playoff game at centre ice and in the first 15 rows?
seems like at stub hub there are a lot of these kinds of ticket available for less than $200..... for their first second round playoff game.

For whatever reason, Americans are much more likely to want to sit on the glass than Canadians.

Yes, the Phoenix Coyotes are unpopular. Is this new?

The point Valo was making was that the Coyotes are in line with all the other NHL teams he has visited.
He has paid $168 to sit in many NHL arenas for playoff games in row 1-15 between the blue lines.
I want him to be my be my playoff ticket secretary.

That wasn't the point Valo was making. He even addressed this a few posts up, to clarify that you're not following his point.
Oddly enough, you did address the point Valo is actually making when you responded to another poster. It's really weird, it's like you're half paying attention to what you're reading and responding too.

Meh... I've done that. Easy to get carried away.
I am just glad they have sold out all the suites.
Suns are now out of the playoffs so turnout should pick up. People really starting to talk about the team. Maybe too little too late but it is good to be relevant.

You seriously can't comprehend simple points can you? I even spelled it out clearly for you.
The point being made was about the higher prices for row 1 tickets. It had nothing to do with availability of playoff tickets. That issue wasn't even tangentially addressed.

You are correct I totally misinterpretted your position on this and went off on a tangent ... I followed up by not reading your responses where you cleared up any doubt as to what you were talking about.
Sorry for wasting your time

Glendale City Council Meeting, April 24th (watch 3:10 to 3:47):

I'm told a dozen people came to speak about the Coyotes - 4 of those came in support of the Coyotes (but none of them live in Glendale?).

I'm sure that is true, but I think Lieberman's point at the end of the video, is how many of those supporters pay taxes in Glendale?
One person made a point - why can't the surrounding cities contribute, as the Coyotes represent the entire area?

Probably because it would be political suicide to do so

They are all people who would be spending money outside of Glendale if the team leaves.
500,000+ visitors a year x how many dollars??
Lets say 100,000 of those folks are glendale tax payers, those are still significant numbers.
What people don't realize or selectively leave out, is that if the team moves... guess who's on the hook for still paying Arena fee's without those 500k+ people spending money in that city?? Generating sales taxes?
Glendale Tax payers.. Surrounding cities contribute by spending money in Glendale.

Who goes to Glendale just to shop? Unless you already live in that area? Or are you saying, people will drive 40 minutes to get to Chandler if they live in Glendale to go shopping?
I'm confused.
People from outside of Surprise, Glendale, Peoria, Avondale shop in their own neck of the woods and only go out to Glendale for Sporting events. Which is exactly the point i'm trying to make!

If I have my facts correct Glendale is going to make its sales tax 3.0 %with the extra money going to pay the Arena management fee to keep the Coyotes.
How will this work?
Next time I am in Phoenix I will try to shop in Gilbert, Scottsdale or Chandler and save 1.5%. Once you get to the top end of the tax scale relative to nearby options overall revenue will not go up as much as expected... Especially in a depressed economy.
PS. Sales tax is a great way to make the snowbirds/carpet-baggers pay for the infrastucture they use.
PPS. The 500,000 visitors to Glendale for hockey (41 days/yr) will be offset by the 4.5 M people who will avoid shopping in Glendale 365 days/yr.

You seriously think people are going to go on county to county hunts for the lowest sales tax when the difference is typically going to be less than 1%? Unless you're dropping serious dollars you'd spend more on the gas to get you there than you'd save in sales tax.

There are thousands and thousands of cars on the freeways passing through several of these cities on their way to wherever. I don't find it that hard to see them deciding to shop at a place where they get 1.5% off of everything.
Do you notice that gas stations that have a lower price often have a lineup despite the minimal savings?
I would definitely go out of my way to buy a car and save $500 in sales tax.
Not scientific but a huge New car dealer in the Phoenix area - Earnhardt (17 dealerships) has none in Glendale.
