for sale at a very reasonable price. Am going to do more research on the pros and cons, appreciated the feedback.

Good deal, and that would be an excellent kit to start with. Both lenses are IS lenses.

I'm a relative newcomer to the DSLR game, here's what I have in my bag right now:
Canon Rebel XSi
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Tokina 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye
I've been debating on a good travelling zoom lens, I was looking at the Canon EF-S 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 IS, anyone have one or any experience with it?

I am working on getting the new Sigma 50-500mm for my all purpose lens, the new Bigma has OS and new glass that everyone is raving about. I have the 150-500 OS and it is a great lens but I am going to sell it to get the new 50-500.

I have that lense (and the same camera). By no stretch of the imagination am I anywhere near a pro photographer but I found it to be a pretty versatile lense for travel (due to the large range). It's not super heavy, so I use it as my primary lense. I didn't want to carry multiple lenses when I travel so I think it's pretty good for that price. My friend used this sigma lense for his travel lense which he liked. It's similar to Canon's (higher Fstop at the long end but is cheaper).

^^^ Reminds me of my old camera.
Before my 1st DSLR I was shooting with the Kodak D6490, that thing took a beating and lasted about 3 years.
I got it in 2003 for around $650.00

Say what you will about Kodak, this little thing was fantastic back in the day.

Woohoo!
New Eos 60d came out today, picked up my body at Vistek. Even though the website shows not in stock, they had a few when I was there today getting a lens looked at.
Finally an articulating screen for astrophotgraphy!

I have the T1i. Is that a good enough body to get into photography with? I need to pick up some lenses but if I am going to need a new body if I get better, I might just save for that first.

IMHO, you can "get into photography" with any camera that has manual control over exposure and aperture. You do want to consider what brand and crop factor you want to invest in, but keep im mind that lenses don't lose value quickly.

The T1i is a very capable camera. Investing in decent glass will get you better results more than a new camera body will. Just get out and shoot as often as you can.
Pylon, I was a little perplexed at some of the choices Canon made with the 60D, but I love that it's a few hundred cheaper than my 40D was. I might get one as a second body for doing video.

Three things that kinda concerned me were...
Burst mode at only 5.3 frames per second, and the fact they dropped the magnesium chassis from the 50d, however I amn not a war photographer, so I think its a kinda moot point, and a vanity thing. Also 9 point AF is the same as my T1i, you'd think they would have gone somewhere between that t1/2 and the 7D.
But the price, is spot on. I paid $1150 for body only (I have 5 lenses already), the 1.6 crop is ideal for astrophotography, and the articulating screen with live view and contrast focussing with uber high resolution is also a major upsell for prime focus astrophotography. Its almost like the thing is built for amateur astronomers. The cameras size is real nice too. Just half way through the rebel, and 7D. The top LCD display is a huge bonus too for quicker composition.
I am gonna take it for a run in the next day or so. I'll let you guys know what I think.

Remember, 10 years ago when the DSLR thing started, a T1i would have been the flagship of all camera's. Professional DSLR's were shooting max ISO of 1600 were running 6 megapixels, and wrote way slower to memory cards.
The best advice I can give you, is buy a canon F1.8 50mm lens for that camera for $129 bucks. You would be blown away at what that little prime lens can do. Some pro's use the nifty fifty as one of their workhorse lenses on $5000 1D's.

My passion is in sports and would love to shoot baseball ,football, and hockey.. The lenses required for these are the expensive ones I believe!

I hope to buy a T2i here shortly. Never had a DSLR though. But I'm getting sick of using my cell phone camera. I think I take a lot less photos than I would with a real camera.

Yeah... especially for nighttime/indoor. For daylight, even a basic zoom lens can freeze motion at resonable ISOs, you just don't get the same subject isolation you do with a bigger aperture.
