Em definitely deserves to mentioned along side Tupac and Biggie.

Edit: If not for talent, then certainly for impact on the industry (although I believe his talent is equal as well).

I don't think this touches his first two LP's... but it's a vast improvement over anything since then. When he's focused he's easily among the best out there IMO. I also think that him working with some new producers (there is only one Dr. Dre track on the album) has helped a bit... pushed him out of his comfort zone a bit.

Personally I think its funny how people rate the "best" rappers on the list.

IMO to be the best you need to hit a pinnacle and maintain it.

Biggie, Pac, Em, Nas, Jay Z have all done this.

People saying artists like Kid Cudi or Lup being the best rappers is a joke, they released 2 albums each. Remember how great DMX's first two were? How about Ja rule's First few albums?

LiL wayne has released a few tracks that did well, in no way should his name even be mentioned in the top 100.

I am not an Eminem fan boy, to be honest my favorite artist is mos def. However this is HIS best effort since his first two albums by far.

How can one go about rating the top 50 rappers of all time? In your opinion he might not be but in a lot of peoples he is.

One of my favorite Eminem songs:

Listen to the new album. Em talks about how he was messed on drugs during Encore and coming off drugs during Relapse. He craps all over his own cds. How many artists have ever done that? He also goes to say he apologizes and will make it up to the fans. And he has. This CD is ridiculous.

Get a freakin' grip man. Music is a personal thing. I don't like Eminem. Deal with it. It doesn't mean I have no idea what I am talking about.

Eminem raps about killing his mom and girlfriend and sounds like he's plugging his nose. I hate his music. IMO Eminem directs his music to mainstream audiences, not rap fans.

My favorite rappers are more along the lines of Das FX, GZA, Mos Def, Ghostface Killah, etc. I view Eminem in the same class of rappers as 50 cent, and Obie Trice. Has he had a large impact on the industry? Yes. But thats not enough. I actually have to like how he sounds... strange huh.

Just never became a fan of the "new" flow he developed.

Another example of "good" eminem.

I wish he'd go back to this style.

Count me in the Marshall Mathers LP camp. The Show is definitely in second place though. A lot of the Slim Shady LP was just too... Borat... for me.

Having said all of that, this is still my all-time fave from him:

If music is a personal thing then why were you so SURPRISED at this thread?

Music is personal but I don't jump into a Nickleback thread and say he sucks and I'm totally surprised at the thread.
