I barely have enough time to finish AC Brotherhood before portal comes out, and I still have Arkham Asylum and The Witcher to play at some point.

Best part is that many of these are the kind where you can play 15-30minutes and put it down for a while, then come back for another short session later. No 15 minute cinematics and 30 minute missions to chug through! Lots of action in short bursts is pretty fun.

My backlog of games is ridiculous. Damn Steam sales. But Portal 2 gets to jump the queue, plus I just finished Assassin's Creed (yeah, the first one) so I'm ready for a fresh game.

Well, this has turned into a debacle... Amazon (US) and BestBuy (US) just dropped their price to $35. Your move, Valve.

Because of Steam sales I'm about 3 years behind on the latest gaming which is pretty awesome. By the time I get to the next AAA title, it sells for like $5 and runs on a cheap computer.
I'll see you guys in Portal 2 in 2014! I'm just starting Mass Effect 1 now.

Has anybody played the game yet? I have it, but am forcing myself to wait until Tuesday, after my exams.

Or, you can just pick up the definitive version on PS3 on Tuesday, which comes with a free Steam PC copy and features cross-platform multiplayer. Worth waiting a day.

That would make sense if Portal was an FPS... you aren't trying to be quick on the trigger and pull off headshots.

You still need some degree of accuracy, and there are times when you don't have long to get your portal in the right place.

Dumb people in IRC/Arg Wiki/Steam Forum are pissing me off. They're co-ordinating wasting CPU hours on games that don't need it to complete their bar before release.

Doesn't make much sense...why bother? Because their game is the best game and they don't like to see it behind? Very strange.

No, they looked at the overall bar and figured out which games require the lowest number of CPU-hours to complete and proritized them. Made sense when we didn't know how the thing worked, but now we know that finishing a game well before the end of the countdown just wastes CPU-hours, and some of the games that got prioritized are ones that would've finished before the release countdown by themselves.
There's a bunch of people who are unaware or don't care about the ARG... if that's a high percentage of the install base then the game doesn't need help. The amount ARGers can help a game then depends on the games sales... games that have sold less are easier to affect.

I thought it wasn't about gaming hours but about finding all the hidden potatoes in all the games or something?
Also, there is likely more to this than just the early release of Portal 2. There's some morse code thing going on.
