Yeah i dont believe Joannie Rochette will be in Vancouver past friday, as she has a bunch of other things to deal with now. She will need some down time with her father and family.
Groves seems likely to me as well, though I think there are a couple other really god candidates including Bilodeau.

If Canada Hockey team (men's) wins goal, Iggy should carry the flag in the closing ceremony.

No pro hockey players please, the feckers make millions and really shouldn't be there in the first place, at least leave something for the poor shmoe who has to hold down a job and plays the game for no more than love.

I'd hope for Rochette to carry the flag but I don't think she'll be in the mood to attend the closing ceremonies. She'll have more important things to take care of like real life.

Under the circumstances, I'm pretty sure Rochette will be leaving Vancouver well before Sunday's closing ceremonies. Perhaps late tonight even.

Pretty sure she'll stay for the conclusion of the women's competition tomorrow night.

Well since they do Equestrian in the Summer Olympics why don't they do a 17 day Idatorod style race at the Winter Olympics where the dogs head out at the opening ceremonies and come in at the closing ones to end the games? It would be pretty cool!
Seriously though Bilodeau because he was the first to get a gold on Canadian soil. Although any of the individual gold medalists would be fine with me.

Hughes gets another making her the first athlete in history to win multiple medals at both the summer and winter olympics. Is it enough to carry the flag?

Has to be Rochette, to perform under these conditions is amazing. She would bring the nation even more closer.

So why not go with the greatest female hockey player of all time for the flag bearer for the closing ceremonies? Hayley Wickenheiser makes sense on so many levels - the women's team won gold, this country is ultra-proud when it comes to hockey - AND not to mention that most of our medals in these olympics have been won by women. So why not go with a woman who is also a hockey player - and also happens to be the greatest one of all time!
Granted, Rochette wouldn't be a bad choice either. Neither would Hughes, but she already had her moment in the opening ceremony...

It's Rochette.
Wickenheiser can carry the flag at the next opening ceremonies - she's got one more games in her.

If she stays until Sunday, she has my vote for sure. That would be a great moment.

She'll stay until Sunday. The Figure Skating gala is Saturday night.

I honestly can't see why Rochette would want anything to do with that sort of spectacle right now. I tend to agree with Tranny. She honoured her mother with this performance, and now can move onto the mundane and emotional tasks of dealing with the loss of a family member.
That said, she deserves the honour more than anyone.
