Ya the NHL has never had a player drive drunk, kill someone or be caught doing drugs and I bet everyone of them is a perfect father.

My favorite kind of reply. All show, no substance.
Even though I'm sure you know the guy has a point, because I'm sure it is true that the number of arrests and such are higher in the NFL. Not to mention the fact that he even acknowledged that the NHL isn't perfect.
I don't mean to nitpick but seriously, what is the point of your reply?
Sure, the NHL has had someone drive drunk. So what is your point?
Oh, that is right, by being clever and sarcastic you can make him look dumb without actually saying anything of substance yourself or actually defending your side with facts.
Fox News style of reporting and sensationalism at its worst.
I don't really care about the whole Vick thing. He can play if he wants it doesn't affect me, although I do hate what he did, but to compare the NHL to the NFL in terms of stupid people getting arrested or in trouble for doing stupid s*** isn't even close and you know it. And sarcastically pointing out a few NHL examples doesn't change that.
Whether or not you are going to have a negative reaction to the NFL like Everlast seems to have is irrelevant, the point is that he's right the NHL does have a significantly lower "thug" factor.
For every 1 Patrick Kane incidents in the NHL I bet there are 3-5 arrests on drugs, guns or assault in the NFL.

Why would you call out a guy for an insubstantial post when he took the time to post an effing solid re-cap earlier in the same thread? Weird, no?
Especially the way you spend half the post taking a shot, then the next half giving your take anyway, which actually wouldn't have sucked if you didn't open with being hostile.

He didn't say the NHL was perfect but he did point that "we only have one 10 cent thug in the NHL", which makes it out to seem like the NHL is pretty darn close to perfect.

My point is you could put together any union in the world and you are going to have bad apples when numbers reach over 500+ people.

There goes that pot calling me black again. I wasn't trying to make anyone look dumb, I'm just pointing out that the NHL has its demons as well.

Want to know why? Because the NFL players grew up as thugs, they lived the life and just because you give him a bunch of cash and an awesome job doesn't change that. They will continue to do those things because they believe they know no better.

I am not saying it makes it right but I'd bet 75%+ of NFL players grew up in a not so great neighborhood and didn't have the luxuries that most NHL players grow up with.

I totally misread his post the first time. I thought he said 10 PER cent thugs in the NHL (seemed high but I'd put the NFL at about 30% so it seemed fair).
I only gave my take on this issue for perspective.
As for taking a shot at you for the way you worded your post and then calling me a hypocrite I don't know what to say.
Care to post some replies I've made to others where I use pure sensationalism to get my point across without actually giving an opinion or facts with it?
I think everyone is entitled to their opinion but IMO the lamest way of calling a guy out is by using sensationalism.
It is all kind of a moot point though because I misread Everlast's post. Saying the NHL only has ONE ten cent thug is silly. Maybe ten, once cent thugs.
I only called you out HOOT because I know I seem to get along with you so I figured you wouldn't flip out like some other posters whom I get along with far less well. I see posts that are all flash and no substance and rarely call them out because people in FOI can get REALLY testy really fast if you eff around with them.
I figured so few people read this forum it wouldn't be a big deal if we got sidetracked a bit.
Like I said, it is all a moot point because I misread Everlast's post and as such you gave a valid response. Generally though, I don't like using that as a means of getting a point across because it has no substance. In this case though saying the NHL has only one troublemaker is ridiculous.

That is an epic misread.

Most of your post was calling out my post, which is correct.

I'm not going to spend my time finding posts of your without substance. However your reply to me had no substance. What was the point you were trying to make? Were you trying to make me look dumb?
My point at least got my opinion known. It is not about the amount of words you type that make it a decent post.

I agree you can have your opinion. But when someone claims there is no problems in the NHL they are wrong. It may not happen as often but the same issues are there, like it or not.

That's fine we can disagree. I know many of my friends and I don't agree about the same things doesn't change anything.
I believe my reply had just as much if not more substance than the original post. I'm not too sure what you wanted me to do besides write this long a** write-up about all the incidents in the NHL and how they equal the NFL. It would have gotten the same message across in more words.

I HATE VICK!
But everyone deserves a second chance. He killed dogs yes and I am a animal lover. I will not root for the guy but he did serve his time and his debt to society is over. So why all the hate? The guy deserves a second chance at life! no matter what.
Hell Big bert got a second chance and we all still hate him. I just think its sick that people want him to burn on a cross. He didn't kill humans. Throw a fit at the medical companies that use animals to test the drugs on. come on people.
