When did I say otherwise?

When you get anxiety or have an anxiety attack you lose self confidence, a lack of self confidence plays a huge part in depression.

You said anxiety leads to depression. I said the 2 are not related.

This question is bunk.
Bunk? C'mon now - it's fine that you don't subscribe to the view, but you could tone down the 'holier than thou' tone in your replies a smidge. People look for answers differently, and find different ones. Surely that's OK?

Well I have depression from time to time... I think I'd try anxiety for a bit.

But I gave you a direct reason why they can be related.. I've never met anyone who was depressed who had good self confidence, have you? I'm not sure why you're blowing off the link between the two.

No, you're right.. and I apologize for sounding holier than thou. I guess my psychiatrist had a different approach to anxiety/depression, and in my opinion it was the right approach to beat both.

1) Excersize
2) Healthy Diet
3) Daily Meditation
4) Positive attitude
5) Living in the moment

These work for me, and would work for anybody else, it just takes alot of discipline and time is all.

I'm blowing off the link because I have suffered from both in a serious manner in my life time. I never felt depressed when I had boughts of severe anxiety.

Depression literally tore part of my family apart.

Anxiety has actually made it closer if anything.

So I guess I pick anxiety then, but I really wouldn't wish either on anyone.

No, but I will say that the methods i've used to help me with my Anxiety disorder and depression are skills that virtually any human being can accomplish (Outside of cardio, but that just compliments the breathing exercise's).

The problem is this, people are unwilling to accept that anxiety is largely a permanent trait in someones life. Most people want to be numb to it, so they take meds. ME PERSONALLY, I would rather accept that it exists but manage it, naturally with breathing exercise's/Meditation and cardio.

It's all a problem with society in general, people looking for the fastest, and easiest way to find the solution to their problems, when it's not necessarily the best solution.

For depression specifically, I'll again recommend "The Art of Happiness" by the Dalai Lama.

Here is a link for people interested:
http://www.amazon.com/Art-Happiness-...9251506&sr=8-1

And for Anxiety, Transcendental Meditation would be a good practice, maybe google some info on it?

To close out my thoughts on this subject, I'm only posting this stuff because I want to help people, in a way that I was helped. It has worked for me, and I'm glad I wasn't just shown a prescription and the door. I have friends and family who went that route and with little success.

If it works for you, I hope it continues to work out well and you can all live happy/anxiety free lives. I'm just passionate about something that has changed my life enormously, and it will last my entire life.

I'm sorry if I've offended some people.
