If there was no collusion it would be the Double-B.

This is what you get for elevating the Twinkies above the MLB Season thread

1. Sports owners and execs are much to greedy and selfish to stick it out blackballing Barry because of some so-called collusion. There would have for sure been at least one maverick team/GM that would have signed him if they thought he could have helped their team win even one more game.

The fact is that with his inability to play in the field, declining numbers and terrible, terrible personality Bonds was no longer a positive asset to a team. When he was putting up unreal numbers, aided by Roids, teams could afford to ignore his negative impact on the clubhouse. Now that he no longer was that much better than anyone else he isn't close to being worth it.

2. Even if Bonds played on his soon to be prisons softball team with rapists, murders and thieves I doubt that he would be close to the most deserving. The guy is such a prick and so bad for the game of baseball that all he deserves is a one way ticket to prison.

I am not sure why Griffey deserves a ring. I realize that a lot of people in the 25-35 age range seem to love him but he hasn't exactly been the model of an MLB player or done a lot that would indicate that he deserves anything either. But he certainly deserves a whole lot more than Bonds.

How about playing through the steroid era clean and knocking 600 out of the park?

No kidding...6th alltime and never a lick of accusation he did it any way but the right way....but no, that doesn't mean he is deserving.

I really do not understand this statement either...

my grandfather, who got me into watching baseball, said he only saw two people with better wings than Griffey. Ted Williams was one, John Olerud was the other. And why is it always the lefties with the really nice swings?

I am not saying BB is a good guy. But there is no way your telling me he couldn't outslug 1/3 of the DHs in the AL. Matt Stairs>Barry Freaking Bonds? Even with my blue colored goggles I have trouble believing that one.

There is no way that there wasn't at least one GM who wanted to add that 20 HRs to his lineup. Bud and the boys told all the GMs that this was not happening. It's bad press for the other 29 teams, especially since they aren't selling more tickets.

I am not saying he is garbage, and not sure that he is clean either, but it isn't as though he is some sort of Roberto Clemente humanitarian or a loyal guy that "took one for the team" and stayed with a team throughout his career through the ups and downs.

To me he is like a bunch of other players that were very good over their careers and probably deserve a title.

Wasn't meant as a shot against Griffey but I still don't see what he did that makes him "deserve" a title.

Huh? The guy basically saved baseball in Seattle and then took way less money to go to the Reds and has stuck with them since, even though they've been garbage every year he's been with them.
