So 'Download Day' is officially over (as of 14:16 EDT).

FF3 had a total of 8,249,092 downloads over a 24-hour period, so they were a bit shy of their goal of 10M. The results are currently being reviewed by Guiness to see if its a world record.

To confirm, when you misspell a word in a text area (such as the one I am typing into right now), you don't get the red squiggle? As far as I know, spell checking is only done in text areas, not text fields (such as the "Title" field above this text area I am typing in).

its just that its more annoying to have it do that than just show the sites that you want it to show, not a site that the url has one of the letters in it ...

and thanks bobblehead

and for your information, im at work so your comment has no validity

Yeah - the new FF is definitely a lot nicer on my Mac. I hated ver 2.

Still - I don't think anything could get me to switch from Safari. What a lovely browser

It is kind of interesting that this report of Fx3, with pictures from Mozilla headquarters, shows them all using Macs

Yeah in Firefox 2 when I was typing in a text feild like the one I'm typing in now, when I misspelled a word there would be a red squiggle that would appear underneath it.

I haven't done a system restart, maybe that'll do the trick. But you get what I'm saying, as I type here, just like in MS Word, a misspelling would be highlighted with a red squiggle.

I've found Safari is close to being usable for me. But I need Firebug/Web Developer.

Plus, Safari has some really awkward javascript bugs that break a few sites for me. It might be fast, but it cheats to be that fast.

Mine must have based off my last settings because it works just the same for me. In certain cases I remember having to right click and check "Check Spelling" in my typing field.

dunno what I did, as I was trying everything under the sun to get the red squiggle back. It's reappeared, and I am once again happy.
