BTW Maybe we should set up a thread where all the talented photoshoppers could showcase their ideas for a Calgarypuck logo.

I'd love to play! Only thing is, I don't know when I'd be able to get the money to you being as I'm nowhere near Calgary right now (and won't be until September). However, if you guys can hold off on me having to get you the money until then, I'd be there for sure. If you can't though, I can totally understand...in that case I guess I could just be a rent-a-player if you'd ever need me haha.

You could always pay-pal it or send a money order over email. I can vouch for flameswin.

Haha, okay... then I may need EII. Basically, I have okay speed, can raise the puck on a wrist shot but only from about 5 feet out and on the forehand, no slapshot worth mentioning, and can't really "hockey stop" in both directions. But I can skate backwards, which I presume would make me a defenseman, unless I need to be able to shoot from the point.

Okay, I think I could try and do that (with a little direction from you guys haha)...mark me down as a defenceman if you want me Mr. Flameswin...
Oh and how competitive is this league? Is it just beer league, or are we out there actually hitting and playing to win?

The NCHL stands for No Contact Hockey League. Hitting is a penalty. Things can get rough in front of the net or along the boards, but there are no open ice hits. Problem with this is a lot of chippy players get away with a lot more because they know you're not likely to drop the gloves (automatic expulsion from the league, no refunds)
It is competitive (at least in the higher levels, but in D too) as everyone doesn't want to lose. It's usually good spirited between the two teams but can get chippy and heated.
One rule that kind of sucks is that if you get 6 penalties, the 6th and subsequent penalties are penalty shots.
So, 6th, 7th and 8th penalties in a game are penalty shots. If you get 9, your team forfeits.

Ive played in the NCHL the past 2 winter seasons and would be interested in playing this winter.
In fact, my team won the "D" division in the 06/07 season!
I find the league to be pretty well run. Stats updates on the internet, 2 refs on time. We had minimal run-in's with hot-head goons too, which was always nice. Sure there were scrums and heated moments, but nothing over the edge.
Only thing that sucks is the icetimes. Look forward to 10:30pm on a cold Monday night in December. But hey, most beer leagues are like that.
As far as skill, "D" and "E" is definatly for average guys like me who can skate, shoot, and pass at a DECENT level. If you played any rep (A, AA, AAA), junior, or college hockey, you'll score at will...
Mark me down as a defenseman!

Hey Jayems is there anyway you could make one where the 'C' looks just like the Flames C, but with the P in the same place?

Okay, I won't be running the "e" team, but we should know in the next week or so how many players are for-sure's for the winter season, then I'll let the GM know that there are a couple of players ready to join from CP.

Hey man, thanks for the kind words bout my skill...lol. I will definitely think bout joining the team. I do have a pretty busy schedule for hockey in the winter(4 teams), and oddly enough none of them are in the NCHL. Although I have subbed in for a team in that league(A or B div, cant remember) and play under a diff name. lol.
I will PM you with my number so you can contact me alright.
