It seems to me that those wrongfull convictions have more to do with a crappy District Attorney at the time
Quote:
Like many in Dallas County exonerated by DNA, Mr. Woodard was convicted during the era of District Attorney Henry Wade. Current District Attorney Craig Watkins has repeatedly said he believes that during this time, prosecutors were more focused on convictions than justice.

I often wonder (and it is a numbing thought) why homeless people dont commit more crimes with the jails being as cushy as they are, three square meals, heat, showers etc.
(And no im not saying homeless people are criminals)

Fair enough, but try to put yourself in that position; cold, dirty and hungry, or behind bars, clean, fed and warm?

Getting three squares and indoor plumbing might be nice, but a lot of people don't like the "locked in a small room" and "not allowed to to leave" aspects of prison life. Never mind that whole thing about being locked in a building full of convicted and potentially dangerous criminals.
We always talk about "country clubs" and "cushy jails". Has anyone ever actually spent time inside of one? The closest I've been is driving past that one in Bowden. It doesn't look quite as pleasant as I've been lead to believe, and criminals sure do try hard to stay out of there.

You'd think that reading the original post in this thread would have helped you realize why this is a bad idea... wow...

Some homeless people, how can i put this, choose to be on the streets, others have mental illnesses...the ones that hate their situation generally find away out....and i bet some of them prefer to be in jail...

That sounds an awful lot like a quote in another thread I just read:
