the weird part is best I can tell it was the 3b ump that overruled his own initial ruling ... which was initially right!

Well it looked like a coalition of umpires decided to change the ruling. The 3rd base ump didn't put up any sort of fight though.

If Mr. Jeter says it's foul then that's final.
No replay needed

Jon Lester (of the BoSox) pitched a no-hitter against the Royals today.

Damn my Yankees need some sort of a wakeup call. Coming back to make the playoffs last year was amazing, I can't see it happening again this year. Something needs to change.

WOO-HOO
Rangers-Rays on SportsNet with the FSN South West feed! Being Canada's only Rangers fan this make me very happy. So much so I'll be checking the hockey game in between innings and pitching changes.
However stupid Kazmir has 7 K's to this point

Seattle's Manager John McLaren:
Quote:
We're playing our (bleep) off every day and got nothing to show for it. I'm tired of (bleeping) losing, I'm tired of getting my (bleep) beat, and so have those guys. We gotta change this (bleeping bleep) around and get after it. And only we can do it. The fans are (bleeped) off, and I'm (bleeped) off, and the players are (bleeped) off. And that's the way it is. There's no (bleeping) easy way out of this, can't feel sorry for ourself, we gotta (bleeping) buckle it up and get after it. I'm tired of (bleep) losing this, (bleeping) every night we bust our (bleep). It's gotta be a total team (bleeping) effort to turn this thing around, and that's it.

In the three game series that just ended:
Vladimir Guerrero didn’t have an at-bat
Chone Figgins didn’t have an at-bat
Erick Aybar didn’t have an at-bat
John Lackey didn’t pitch
Kelvim Escobar didn’t pitch
The Angels swept the Mariners in Seattle without their All-Star #1 starter, their All-Star #2 starter, their All-Star right fielder, their starting third baseman, and their starting shortstop.
If you took Felix, Bedard, Ichiro, Beltre, and Betancourt off this team and sent them to go play another major league franchise, they’d lose 104-3. The Angels just played a series without their equivalents to those five guys and swept the Mariners at home.

Griffey was the youngest player in the majors — still only 19 — on April 10, 1989, when he homered off the Chicago White Sox’s Eric King on the first pitch he saw at Seattle’s Kingdome.
Homer No. 36 was one of his most satisfying. It came one batter after his father, Ken Sr., homered off California’s Kirk McCaskill on Sept. 14, 1990, an unprecedented father-and-son moment in the majors.
Nice. I'm a big fan of Griffey's as well. I used to argue with a friend of mine about who was better, Bonds or Jr (before all the home runs and seroid controversy). I'd like to see him again and find out what his thoughts are.

I think Junior comes by these totals as honestly as a Baseball player in todays day and age can. He has such a great swing, too bad he was as injury riddled since he went to Cincy, he may have been able to make a legitimate run at 700 if he'd maintained his health. Doesn't look that much different today than he did when he was a 19 year old kid.

Yeah, was just looking at this. Sort of like Zito he's went into drastic decline here for the last two years and a bit. I guess he did have knee surgery and maybe he can get his groove back...but right now he's walking every second guy who comes up to the plate. If he doesn't, than the Tigers really took on a major bogey to get Cabrera.

I remember two or three years back I watched D Train single handedly win a game.
He pitched 9 shut out innings and hit a solo HR, leading the Marlins to a 1-0 victory. Guy was a monster, and I am kind of surprised his stuff has been so well hit in the AL.

d-train's demise can be best attributed to his delivery. he's got a lot going on there, and it worked in his first couple seasons because he was thin enough to properly move his body in the way he wants it to when he throws a ball with that form. now that he's put on a couple pounds, not alot mind you, his ability to twist his body around like he used to isn't there, thus resulting in a slightly different release point and the subsequent control problems...
as for me, i'm a mariners fan, and it looks like they finally fired bill bavasi as gm. this is something i've been waiting for ever since they hired him as pat gillick's replacement...i never thought he was capable then, and i sure don't think he's capable now...
the atmosphere bavasi created is causing even ichiro to bat below .300!!!!!

Two ridiculous throws from Rick Ankiel.
Bad baseball, he missed the cutoff man.

For someone only making $2 million, I don't understand why his Skip was so angry with him. Do you expect Shawn Chacon at 2 to be a horse?
At the same time I am sure Chacon version of the events was pretty far from the truth.
