I seem to recall seeing on Conan that SLJ makes a membership at a local golf course close to the set a requirement of his contract. He's quite the golf nut.

What course were you on. I'm guessing not Fox Hollow!

Craig Simpson Dork Story Number 3:

I used to see him occasionally walking his dogs down the street in front of my cabin. The guy already looks like a pretty boy, but he really looks poncey when he's strolling along with two tiny white punting dogs at the end of skinny leashes.

If I didn't know he was a hockey player I would have pegged him for Elton John's manservant.

My Uncle worked for the Oilers in the 80s, and became friends with a number of the Oilers (McSorley, Coffey, McClelland...), so I was able to meet some of them when I was a little kid. The Stanley Cup was brought to my Grandma's house, and I was able to sit in the thing for a picture. lol

I also met McSorley more recently during his final stint as an Oiler. He really is a nice guy.

Have met a few celebraties and party with many CFL'ers at Grey Cup. Probally the best story is seeing Andy Macdowell around 95 breast feeding her baby at the lodge Big Mountian Whitefish Mont. She wasn't covering up at all then giving dirty looks at people for looking.

Condellezza Rice walked by me with her football team of bodyguards on her way to the Security Council as well as Martha Stewart at an unveiling of a photo exhibit while I was working at UN headquarters in New York. Which was crazy because she was still supposed to be on house arrest.

Went to a conference in Montreal and King Abdullah II of Jordan and I chatted up a Peace in the Middle East Strategy.

Lenny Kravitz at Sea World in San Diego.

That guy who played Morpheous in the Matrix in LA.

David Blayne before he put himself into that dome of water for a week.

Snoop DOGG in LAX.

I flipped off Stephen Harper on Crowchild.

Ed Whalen, Ron Mclean, Don Cherry, Denis Gauthier in Walmart buying an x-box and then playing the claw machine for stuffed animals with his kid, got doug risebrough's autograph the other day, Fleury a few times, one time when I was really young he was going to give me a puck and it fell past my hand and some boy grabbed it and I was so upset I started to cry. Gil Grand I see quite a lot.

I assure you, I am no one important, I have been on the Canadian delegation for a few UN conventions/commissions/conferences. I do not make the policies, I just liaise between the Canadian government with the rest of the delegation and other states, making sure that we are sticking to our foreign policies (which is really hard right now because the government is so new and a lot of the policies are not yet formulated).

I've said too much...

A friend of mine married Deb. She is a nice girl.

Dany Heatley and Al MacInnis came to watch my band play once (not together - just coincidence). Dany is related to the singer so I know him fairly well.

As a kid I played "Go Fish" with Muhammad Ali on a flight from Calgary to LAX. I had no idea who he was until two years later. I was angry people kept asking for autographs and interrupting my game. My Aunt set that up. She knew him threw an affiliation of the PLO. He helped rescue some american hostages from the PLO in the early 80's.

I once sat in the flames players box with Ed Whalen and Stu Hart for a WWF event watching Jake the Snake and JYD. I, like most Calgarians, have met most of the Hart brothers as they were subsitute teachers throughout Calgary.

Wayne Gretzky...came to my church when I was three. Still remember, really nice guy. He talked to me and my bros. He was really cool about it, considering it was church.

Rob Corddry from the Daily Show, after performing at U of I.

Lanny MacDonald visited my little brother while he was sick in the hospital. Another class act.

I met an ex Flame. I guess I don't know what all the players look like. It was at crappy strip club in Vernon, BC. I was getting some drinks and he was in line wearing a Flames hat. It was after the playoffs in '04 and I said man I love the Flames. He just looked at me funny and said "yeah, I use to play for them." Anyways he was not very friendly and gave me another dirty look and walked away.
I thought he looked like Mike Vernon but then I looked at a picture of Vernon and it wasn't him. I am 6'2" and he was alot shorter then me. Maybe 5'7" to 6'0" not sure.

I meet Lanny McDonald when I was younger. My mom is friends with his wife.

Haven't been lucky enough to bump into anyone else famous.

*edit* when I was little I met Jim Davis at a cartoon museum in Florida and he autographed my Garfield comic book.

That's a pretty big claim to make considering Harper has only been in power for a few months and has not made any significant policy changes and certainly has not made any policy improvements. Your statement appears as though you have been brainwashed by conservative propaganda without any facts to back the claim of "best PM we've had in half a century".

Don't feel bad though, it's what fascists do best - brainwash society.

Before this goes too far off the rails...

I saw Mohammed Ali at the Stampede in maybe 1985. He was walking down the midway with a at least a thousand people crowded around him taking pictures and screaming for autographs. It was quite the mob scene. I've always wondered what the hell he was doing there. He certainly wasn't fighting here. Maybe he came for the rodeo? Did the Stampede board ever drag in celebs just to have them around?
