I would hate to lose Zary, as he’s one of my favourite flames, but it doesn’t look like he’s an NHL center at this point. Cozens is a natural C, and a prototypical top-6 pivot with size and speed. If we’re considering Z to be a winger going forward, then perhaps he’s slightly expendable as we have a glut of wingers in the organization, and a lack of centers.

I guess it’s all moot anyway as I can’t see Buffalo parting with him anyway.

Cozens is a big natural centre who has scored 30 goals before age of 23. Has far more value than Andersson and is likely close to par in value to TT. We grossly overvalue our assets as fans and I get it. Any trade for Dylan Cozens would come at a very high cost, far far more than Ras.

Regardless, it’s a moot point. Any team would only trade a young player like that for an asset like Ras if they are knocking on the door. The Flames should be quizzing the Stars on Stankoven though…….

Rasmus is a 27 year old top 4 (top 2 edge) blueliner capable of 10 goals and 40-50 points. Good at carrying the puck, pass first but a good hard shot. Plays much meaner and bigger than his size. Has this year and next on a very team friendly cap hit. He has big value.

Also the ship has sailed on Stankoven

Sabres need a Cozens more then they need a Rasmus so I don't see that happening.

But it is the type of trade the flames should be looking to do.

The canes D is not what it once was, Necas is now a 2 years remaining UFA.

If Utah keeps winning they will want to make a big splash for playoffs this year. I wonder what you could shake loose from them *cough* iginla *cough*.

He would fit like a glove with the panthers after they lost montour. lundell would be a great piece.

Anaheim might start to look to build. I wonder if they Zegras is still an odd man out.

Without explanation.

Zegras needs to be traded to a state where pot isn't legal

He's a legit #2-4 on a contender, that is just entering his prime. The ask should be big.

Tage Thompson is the overrated one on that roster. Cozens will wind up having a more successful career.

LOL, that is more than what Eichel returned, Eichel being the guy who was light years better than Cozens when he was traded at around the same age.

Nevermind was the Toffoli deal.

I guess the Habs have the flames number when it comes to trades.

Can’t fault him for that trade. He had to finally make a move when the team was performing. He missed out a few seasons prior.

Didn't the Flames win the Bourque for Cammalleri trade?

That's because of Conroy.

Colorado really struggling to start the season.

Do wonder if they will come calling about Kadri at some point this year. Does feel like they really miss him and that might be one of the only teams Kadri would approve a trade to. Thing is… the flames are in no hurry to trade him (or anyone I assume) so the price would likely be higher than Colorado would want to pay for Kadri considering how long he is signed for at his age. But they are right in the middle of their window… I don’t think a team like that can afford to worry about a contract being 2-3 years too long. Kadri could lock down their 2nd line center position for the next 2 years which is the most important time period they need to focus on right now.

The cost would likely be too high for Colorado though. I’d be asking for Ritchie and I think the conversation would end there.

They traded for Mittelstadt and signed him. Think they have moved on from Kadri.

What they need is a goalie.

This is nonsense. Colorado is an annual contender for the foreseeable future, that has played and lost TWO hockey games so far this season.
