It would be a huge boost through the rebuilding years to keep something of a weekly/monthly YouTube series like this over the course of a season. Show some Wranglers updates, and other prospects. The team produces it so they have full control over what to share, and it gives more casual fans and die-hard fans a means to get more invested in the young players that will become the core of this team over the next few years.
Let's not create our own version of Oil Change. The series that felt like it would never end and really had no conclusion.
I didn't watch any of Oil Change; I hope they don't go down the route of Drive to Survive and create made-up narratives. Let the stories unfold naturally.
I realize that production costs would be a major consideration but it would be good if there were a focus on the Wranglers and other prospects throughout the season.

Biggest pet peeve of the Canadian NHL teams.
How is it possible that there is not a weekly 30 minute team in review program for each of the Canadian teams.
Walk through the prior weeks games, talk with a coach or member of management, talk with a player or prospect, update the minor league team and talk about a junior prospect and how their season has been going.
Super easy to do and would draw viewers.
Has to be better than watching the same top 50 plays of whatever being broadcast at least a dozen times every week.

Because Canadian media is run by 1, maybe 2 companies that only care about massive profit and couldn't care less about quality or substance. There are pro league teams in the US like the Suns that are starting to go back to the local model and with it comes room for more things like this.
If teams don't start embracing more local initiatiaves they are going to run into serious fan level impacts in the future with the rising cost of fandom and shrinking room in the average young fans wallet for pro sports.

This would be a production by the Flames, not mainstream sports media.
Edit: maybe that's what you meant by local initiative.
Interestingly enough, I was actually contemplating pitching this exact idea to the Flames over this past summer because I work in film/marketing and thought it would be a great way to engage with fans through these rebuilding years (and obviously super fun for me to make!), so I'm glad they did this on their own. It sounds like the fans want this kind of stuff too, which should come as a surprise to no one.
The Raptors do something similar throughout the year and it's just a cool little slice of life piece every couple weeks that gives you a look at the players personalities off the court, the team support staff behind the scenes, the facilities, and the coaching staff. Granted the production quality and gear used is a definite step up from flames tv but that's also to be expected.
I know lots of teams/leagues do this kind of thing, but it really isn't that hard with even a two person crew (or one moderately talented person) to create something of pretty high quality, and do so consistently. In this day and age, I almost feel like you are simultaneously doing a disservice to your fans - who feel increasingly entitled to "access" content like this - as well as missing a huge opportunity for positive fan engagement (and having some measure of control over your narrative) that can deepen ties to your team, especially when you risk losing casual fans with a couple impending losing seasons.
Great to see stuff like this from the Flames and hope it evolves and elevates beyond just the preseason.

Hockey is an entertainment business. They have it right in their name - Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. They should definitely do more of these regularly as I think it not only further entertains fans, but also helps fans emotionally connect more with the team.
Flames have always been a 'business first' type of company. Closed-lip, everything behind closed doors, but there was always a certain 'nobility' in my mind when it comes to conducting yourselves in this manner. However, they really are in the entertainment business. This helps build and maintain fanbases, and they should even get some ad revenue from this, no? This organization is going to be more media-savvy and 'fun' rather than 'stuffy' as they have been in the past.
I remember one of the critiques that Ken King dealt with during a live interview was about how closed-lipped this franchise was, and I remember him saying that "Perhaps it is time to change that". Looks as if they are moving a bit in that direction. Just don't over do it like the disgustingly self-congratulatory greasers up north that do so at every single opportunity to the point of inducing projectile vomiting.
That was maybe the least inspiring set of “inspirational” coaching talks at the beginning. Hope it’s better behind closed doors because legit sounded like a wet blanket asking the boys to go all in…
Yikes. Maybe just me but doesn’t inspire much hope

He won’t be the coach when this team is good anyways.

Maybe, but this organization, under Sutter as GM, and then again starting when Treliving/Burke came in, and has been shown over and over and stated by current and former players, that they treat their players and their families well.
Part of treating them well is and has been keeping their names out of the columns of the hack rumor mongers out there, by not engaging with them and trusting the agents to keep their mouths shut, which upsets said rumor mongers at the Flames for not feeding them.
Look at the slip up this past year with Marsktrom...that Feb leak to NJ was not supposed to get out and was uncharacteristic of the Flames organization and protecting its players.
Goes the same for these sorts of behind the scenes things, as personas can be analyzed and public perceptions can be changed, fairly or not.
Though in this case, with a Flames-only production crew, you figure it will be very vanilla and postitive only.
Location: F*** me. We're so f***ing good, you check the f***ing standings? Lets f***ing go! F***ing practice!

I thought it was great. No sugar coating. Go out there and give it your all or you're not going to make it. It's hard, it's going to be tough, this is the time to show what you're made of.
I think it obviously worked because the entire team gave it their all. Was an ultra competitive camp and they all worked hard every single preseason game.
