Sucks that Ken King didn’t get to see this day. All the hard work he put in to get this arena built. Looking forward to Monday.

I might be imagining things but wasn’t Tampas first arena Thunderdome? Maybe it was just a coined nickname.

Wouldn't it be something if they named the playing surface the Ken King Rink at The Scotiabank Corral... One can only dream

Our new arena has the same design Architect as the toilet up north, so let's hope for a little less of that kind of character.

I think we should call it Ol' Beautiful, in memory of the Inglewood brewery... would be the best arena name in the NHL

If I can get a pint of their Okami Kasi Japanese ale in the new arena, I'll be a happy camper.

A pint?
Of a local beer?
In the new arena?
Why, that might only cost you $28

You can't convince Edwards sycophants that he is not some god-like master negotiator that tears apart the opposition like warm butter. This aura is, and will always be, hilarious to me.

It's cool; I plan on winning an Oilers 50/50 sometime over the next 5 years, so I'll be a multi-millionaire.

The downside to this is it timestamps when I have to be in Calgary next.
Need to take my oldest to the Saddledome. It's sacred ground.

He apparently lost his wife....to kd lang?
Maybe they should have had her negotiate for the city.

As mentioned before, this would've very likely been announced earlier (before July 1) but the watermain issue took PR precedence with the City so it had to wait until after Stampede.
As Flambers said, utility work has been going on since May.

Yup, exactly. Actual names are gone and only the bland corporate ones remain. Calgary was lucky that we've kept Saddledome as long as we have.
