I went with Hunter. I think Coronato is a safe pick and he is going to be a good player for years for us, but his upside is lower IMO. I just have a good feeling about Hunter being more of an impact player

Coronato has produced well in the AHL and should be a main staple next season. Really, really hope he learns his role well as a shooter, because we need one. Hope he can learn a little from Kuzmenko with his brief career here in the NHL to date. Also hope Huberdeau can get him going like he somewhat did with Tippett.
Coronato over Brzu only because of the quality of the league. Have really liked how Brzu has progressed and he’s easily #4 for me.

Based on production relative to age, league and position, I see the group after Coronato as being quite large:
On forward: Basha, Gridin, Misa, Pelletier, and
On defence: Brzustewicz, Mews, Poirier.
I think arguments could also be made to include Honzek (based on injury), Morin (based on draft-year production and overall play), and Stromgren (based on recent development, despite lacklustre production).

My criteria is a mix of upside, achievements at the various levels they've played in and likelihood to make (and stay in) the NHL. As new prospects get added to the fold, how long a prospect has been in the Flames system without making the team full time also factors in for me. So, for a guy like Poirier, time is running out and they're being passed...

Um…
If you're high on pills, you should probably be discussing that in the Off Topic Forum.

Honzek and Pelletier will be pretty far down my list. Pelletier especially looks injury prone

At least now I have a renewed excitement for Coronato and I feel better. I still have a good feeling about Grushnikov although I flip between him and Brzustewicz.

I really feel that folks getting on the Coronato train are in for a real treat. Heck, even if you’re not on this train, you’re getting a treat too.
Sure, he has to keep working on his skating, but he seems to know where to go, and a crazy good shot, and as soon as he gets the confidence and some leash, he’ll take off.

And he was putting in one-on-one time with Danielle Fujita at development camp, was he not?
I think he knows exactly what he needs to work on. The only question is how good he can get before hitting his natural ceiling.

Was he a favourite of yours for the draft? I was certainly raving about him for the better part of a year….

It's going to be fun when Parekh turns into Makar, Brzu turns into Fox, Mews turns into EK and all three Norris finalists are from the Flames!
And no I'm not tempering my expectations!

Come on, be realistic man, there aren’t enough minutes for 3 high end d-men. With all of these offensive d-men, and there are more in the system, the Flames are going to invent the 1-2-1-2 formation with a d-rover in the middle.

15 different guys getting votes in the 3rd round!
Amazing the prospect depth this team has added in 12 months.

No, he wasn't. I didn't to watch him much at all. I base it mostly on highlight videos prospect analysis etc.
I can't base it on any inside knowledge or anything, just having fun being a fan.
I think that he will become much better defensively, keep and build on the great skating, offense will drop a bit, so he will be more like Hanifin IMO. That said, I think his compete will go way up with the coaches we have in the organization. That's why I think his stock will rise similar to Rasmus Andersson post draft.
