I wouldn’t be. What are they going to do with your location? Serve you an advertisement catered to your location because you’re within a geofence?

They’ll be selling a 3D scan model of my body on the dark web. Holding a malt.

They had one of these at the mullet arena in pheonix. I tried it, got a beer and didn’t die afterwards.

If you don't like that, turn off your phone the next time you're in a mall. You're probably being tracked.

Sell my data to law enforcement so they can arrest people for going out without authorization next time there's a lockdown? That, by the way, has already happened.

They arrested people for using Just Walk Out at the Saddledome?

Damn, they’re fast.

Well if there's a lockdown then you probably deserve to be arrested for going out without authorization. I always find the whole privacy argument interesting. I see this much more on US forums because privacy means more to them than even Canadians. It's a personal thing and I have no issues with people on either side of the fence. I would hope that the government or police aren't tracking me because I'm a clean citizen and they are wasting their time when they could focus their efforts on more important things and as for companies tracking my habits trying to sell me stuff, I still take full accountability for what I buy and what I do.

I used this at the Seahawks game a couple weeks back. It's pretty simple, the only snag was that you had to leave with your beers open. They caught me a couple times, it's easy to forget!

I don't know how much faster it really was, there was still a lineup to get into the area and lots of people standing around trying to decide what they wanted too.

You're worried about this, but I bet you use a smart phone? The amount of tracking that goes on is ridiculous already, you can just add this to the list. Now they'll know you're beer preference and bombard you with advertising along your drinking preference.

I used this in Vegas though at their hockey game and Raiders game, it worked great. The best part was not worrying about a tip. I don't care if they track me. My car does, my phone does, everything except my wife does lol.

It's right next to 109. The entire space is like 200 sq ft. Oh no! They are tracking in the area the size of a master bathroom...

Are you going to be able to even buy beer at this place?

I saw a little similar looking kiosk in the Edmonton rink last night. I went and grabbed my beer out of the cooler, but they had an attendant with a card reading machine.

I asked if they planned to go checkout free as I had seen this thread. Cashier said no point, because they need to open every beer anyway so its never going to be checkout free for alcohol.

Pretty sure in the US you can buy unopened beer at sporting events? I know for sure you can buy beer bottles with lids which is off the table in Edmonton.

Yes, you can buy beer at the Market. There are staff there to check IDs and, if needed, crack beers as fans exit.
"Grab and Gos" like the one you are saying is new @ Rogers have been around for many years at venues across North America, although not in Alberta.
