Was hoping for Leslie from the Giants to get an invite. Couldn't believe he went undrafted.

the goalie Murphy- that name seemed familiar to me- I believe he was briefly PTO'd by the Wranglers last spring?

Mantei from the Wheat Kings seems like he might have some promise. Close to the lead in defensive scoring for them, and +10 on a pretty bad team (Danielson was -12). Not huge at only 6 feet but seems like he’d be physically fine for pro hockey.

He’s interesting for sure. Earlier in the season I came across some interesting advanced stats tidbits about him, but when I came around to doing a write-up on him, I couldn’t find them. I spent a lot of time scouring the internet for those tidbits, and it became a mission of sorts, but after all that time- no dice. I don’t think I actually got around to doing a write-up….

Anyway, strange and serendipitous that he’s coming to camp.

Yep. Graduated from Union College (where he was Captain!) and signed a PTO.

Both he and Radomsky had PTOs..

Jeremy Poirier apparently getting treatment on a lower body injury he has been dealing with for 2 years.

I was hoping to see him in our camp too. He may have gotten an invite and chose to go to another camp instead. He's not listed as attending the Canucks or Oilers camps either. An article in the Athletic listed him as the top undrafted player from this year's draft so barring an injury or some off-ice issues we haven't heard about, I'd imagine he had a number of offers to choose from.

Mikael Diotte is a returnee from development camp last year. Big defenseman. Probably looking to go pro this season.

Obviously, they like what they see if he was invited back. May just be for a Rapid City position.

Very curious to see what Stromgrem looks like.
I thought he looked pretty decent in the WJC, and sometimes it takes a little longer for bigger guys to grow into their frame.

Brickhouse or not, it's got to be daunting for a player of Tulk's size to be amongst players like those attending this year's camp- seems like the vast majority of attendees are behemoths, like 6'3" or bigger, lol.

Several from the 2020 draft are attending but Zary and Solovyov are not

Pretty sure the Flames did not have a summer camp in 2020 or 2021. Last summer would have been the first for the 2020 to 2022 draftees

The general rule of thumb is that the Flames tend to bring in only players who haven't completed two pro seasons yet. Both Zary and Solovyov (and a few others) are headed into their third ELC season.

But there are case-by-case exceptions.
