will only change their position by a few spots lets be real...they aren't going to lose every game with their easy schedule.

Win tonight and get with 4 points of a team you have a head to head with not to mention has been terrible of late

This team isn't in tank mode, they just aren't. Possibly getting a decent draft pick and a (albeit slim) shot at Bedard is simply consolation for this godforsaken season. But nobody should be expecting them to tank. They aren't and they won't.

It was the same level of play as the Boston game, and only a notch better than the Leaf game. Outcomes differed, that's all. I can name a lot more games where they played really well and lost than I can where they just sucked.

I must admit I've been down on the team for a few weeks now and have been hoping for a swift drop in the league standings for a higher pick but after that Dallas game, screw it I hope they go on a win streak and sneak into the playoffs. Hopefully last night's game was the catalyst we've been waiting for, also doesn't hurt that Markstrom is back to playing at least average.

Also after doing a number of deep dives on this summer's draft the past few weeks, any pick in the top 20 IMO will net you a blue-chip prospect, and after the top 7 the tier's drop off it's kind of a crapshoot based on team preference from 7-20 picks anyway. A win tonight is crucial though, please Flames don't hop back on the rollercoaster.
