Can't and won't cheer for losses - that's for true losers to me. But I CAN cheer for the management (and owner...good luck with that...) to wake the £^%##€ up and assemble a better structured team and coaching group.

For me, I’m back at the point of not really caring about the game results. Win, hold some hope for a few playoff games come spring, lose and the flames inch towards a better pick in a deep draft.

Meh…

Flames win 5-3 with an EN.

Kadri (X2), Anderson, Lewis and Lindholm with the goals.

Three apples for Hubey.

We have more goals per game than they do. Just FYI.

I know, surprised me too.

I look forward to a game against a very talented team tonight. I assume it will be a roller coaster of a game with a lot of ups and downs.

As far as my expectations, I don't expect a win, or care if they win. I'm simply going to enjoy the game, hopefully see some pretty plays and growth in the game of some of the younger guys. Pelletier is not far off being the rookie of the month, and that's exciting.

A really good saying I use now is "journey before destination". We are concentrating so hard on the end result of winning a game, winning the cup, or the makeup of the team next year, that we forget to enjoy the game itself... which was why we started watching hockey in the first place.

Cheering for a loss is pointless. The difference between having the 18th to 14th pick is negligible. Might as well hope they squeak into a wild card spot and at least have a chance to do some damage (not that Im optomistic they would but better to have that chance).

So sell what?

Nothing that happens in the next handful of games is going to cause the team to move guys like Lindholm, Toffoli, Hanifin, etc. If that happens, it'll be in the summer.

But go ahead and root against the team you "cheer" for.

SN: Is it possible you could be a seller?

BT: You don’t just move players for the sake of moving them.

We don’t have expiring contracts that are going to return massive assets.

We’re having conversations on all kinds of stuff.

At the end of the day you’d always like to help the team, but the team has got to be in a position where you can help them.

Depth guys I think would be worth moving if you could for even low round picks. Who probably won’t be back next year.

Lewis. Still useful in a 4th line checking role. Tons of experience. Betting Ruzicka takes his spot next year.
Ritchie. I think Duehr has stolen his spot.
Lucic. It’s his last kick at the can. Someone might want some muscle. Long shot.
Phillips. Someone might want him and there’s no way he’s playing here.

Wildcard. Markstrom. It’ll never happen. But if it did and Wolf comes up next year it would open up a ton of avenues to sign another high end forward.

Would have also said Stone if he wasn’t injured. I think Gilbert has stolen his spot. Especially if Kylington ever comes back.

If Carpenter is worth a 4th then certainly Lewis is. But doesn’t matter, Flames win tonight and start to get back into this.

I’ll be in attendance with my wife and kids.

I hope it’s an entertaining game with Calgary coming up with a W in regulation.

Go Flames Go!

I think the Flames win tonight and the next two games precisely because of how hard they will be. And just to #### up BT's plans further.

Yeah, I think moving some depth guys is addition by subtraction. They are a temporary crutch. Better to get kids into these situations and see how they do and develop them. This should have turned into a development season a couple weeks ago.

It's not giving up. It's giving kids a chance to meet the same expectations - make the playoffs.

If the season rests on guys like Ritchie, Lewis, Lucic then you did it wrong. If all you get is future considerations that's still better than nothing.

Lewis would be a great depth add for a contender. He’s the kind of guy that shines postseason.

I hope the Flames players try their best, have fun, and say **** it, it’s us against the world and we’re not going to be sellers this year.

Play with your hair on fire or don’t bother showing up.

And that this is probably his last season. Who wants a move in those circumstances?
