I'm as critical of him as anyone else, but I think he's moved into "gives us a chance to win" territory with his recent play. He hasn't been prime Kipper, but he's been good enough and I think he is trending in the right direction.
I think that is a much more fair interpretation of his play as of late, which in my opinion still isn't good enough. I am not actively cheering against the guy - I just expect more - as I am sure he does of himself as well. To me, Vladar has simply earned the right to play more but it is what it is, and that's not how Sutter runs his ship.

Lets skip his best game when evaluating how could he is!

Can we skip his worst one too?

Markstrom got us the 2 points in San Jose last game, he was fine. He made big saves at 3-3 and after we made it 4-3.

Having both goalies going would be a great thing.

This is a benchmark game. Flames better come out flying and hitting anything that moves.

Not so fast. That's what Wideman thought!

I'm really excited about tonight. If they win tonight, in regulation, could be a nice change in the team sentiment trajectory.

That's almost 4 goals saved above average.

I think he's getting the job done.
Also not just that, even with the old reliable eye test he’s been really really good if you have been watching the games. Looks poised and confident, no crazy rebounds, cutting off angles and getting across quickly. He’s been really good actually. I find it really tough to criticize him lately to be honest.

Many of the goals he has given up should be hung on the D.

Breakaways, odd man rushes, turnovers in the slot ect.

Default Calgary Flames at Los Angeles Kings 8:30pm TV: SNW, BSN - RADIO SN960

It’s all about the Flames start.

If they can play a solid first 10 minutes, generate chances, and pot one or 2 goals, I think they beat the Silver Crowns in their own barn.

Go Flames Go!
