1st period call against flames, ignore oilers infractions
2nd period ignore oilers infractionss
3rd put whistle away unless oilers are trailing with under 10 mins

He is 4-1 and that doesn't cut it

No, they really didn't. Flames were on their heels for much of the third and didn't press. The only line that looked dangerous was the 4th line. The other lines struggled to complete a pass. That was the worst period of hockey I've seen from the Flames this year. Oilers didn't do a helluva lot, but they got pucks to the net which is more than the Flames can say. A lot of shots from the points and the perimeter. You're not scoring on those unless you're shooting at Markstrom.

Would like to see more from Huberdeau. Like, a lot more. Nowhere near good enough tonight.

It doesn't cut it when he never shows up to play the NO GOODS.

Unacceptable.

I like Markstrom but you have to be a difference maker when you are paid the money he gets. Can’t be the second best goalie and let in soft goals every night. Also, time to change up the top line. You can argue that chemistry takes time to build but doesn’t seem to be an issue for Gaudreau or Tkachuk on their new teams.

Structurally we played well but goaltending against these guys is extremely worrisome. Add in another 3 point night for McDavid and you can see why he’s scored the most goals against us in his career.

Really hope Sutter makes some adjustments to the top line. As far as Markstrom is concerned I have no idea what to do. Can’t really sit your 6 million goalie so I think you are at his mercy on a nightly basis. He needs to figure out things fast.

Never seen a goalie default to playing on his knees like that. Has anybody suggested to him to stand up when the other team is shooting?

scheduled loss, move on. layover hangover. Thankfully only one more battle of officiating... the BOA is dead to me. The league ruined the best rivalry in it's history.

In terms of save percentage, I’m pretty sure Markstrom has been outplayed by the opposing goalie in around 16 of the past 20 games, including the playoffs.

Meh.. lots of positives you can take from this game. I thought Markstrom played well but needs to stop with a soft goal a game this season. Needed the top line to pick up a goal, i thought they showed glimpses of better chemistry but it is a work in progress, and still lots of questions if it will work. For the positives, the defense managed the puck well, thought Calgary controlled the game, bottom two lines are executing as or above expectations and the penalty kill had another strong game.

Obviously you like to see more but I’m still confident that he starts to produce with different line mates. It’s just not working with Lindholm and Toffoli.

Flames played well enough 5on5 to win. Markstrom is scared of the oilers, and gave up his usual deflating dumb goal.

Move on I suppose, but if a star player on the team always whithers away in the biggest moments, against the biggest rivals, maybe they aren't really stars to begin with.

he did so showup but you gotta do your part and reward the big saves with goals, 2 goals not good enough. Marky made at least 8 game saving stops.
