one of the biggest sleepers in the prospect pool, IMO

It would seem that a few invitees from the prospects camp in July impressed enough to be invited back, namely D Chris Sedoff, D Jake Lee, F Evan Boucher, and F Cooper Walker. There's one name that stands out to me, that I'm interested to see. Here's a little write up I did back in July:

D Chris Sedoff, 6'1",190lbs, 20 years old. 65gp/7g/54a/61pts for Red Deer, 36 points ahead of the next defenseman on his team, and good for 7th in the WHL. He's come a long way from his draft year. Played with men in Finland in 2020-21, during the pandemic. By all accounts, he's pretty cerebral and details-oriented, in addition to being very mobile. His defensive play is already advanced, and he's highly aware in his own zone with good gaps, positioning, and a smart stick. He's a good passer with poise and patience, and exhibits quality breakouts. He can drive play effectively in all 3 zones. Sedoff may be the only invite in camp who I think might get a contract, even if it's an AHL pact.

That’s a weird take because that’s actually a pretty interesting list of prospects not considering the best one - Coronato is not even attending.

Plenty of people I am excited to watch this weekend, are any of them gonna be next starts? Probably not. But highly likely some could be good top 6 players and I love to predict their potentials. I only watch their highlights while they are in junior so it is exciting when I get to watch their games.

No prospect is a certainty, but the suggestion that there is probably only 1 NHLer on the squad is pretty silly
Not sure where you got only one. I was saying probably around half dozen. I was only speculating that a team is probably fortunate to get a couple nhlers from each draft.

There are a few that aren't. I think I counted at least 7, but I would have to look it up to confirm. I am sure each team has a handful who aren't their property. I mentioned Max Namestikov on the Canucks roster.

I read that he could conceivably return to Red Deer one more season, but maybe turning pro is in the cards.

Thanks for your write-up.

EDIT: I just realized he'd be both an import and an overager on the Rebels, so turning pro would be much more likely.

Cole Schwindt and Yan Kuznetsov doesnt do that for me.

I guess this list just doesn't excite me, Coronato (not on list) seems to have some top end potential, but I think its 50/50 we sign him, so ya I'm a bit down on the future of the team. Meddling in the middle for 20 years can damper spirit.
lol teams in the basement of the NHL the past few years have more high end prospects then a team that has won their division in the last two full NHL seasons

no way!

you know what's more fun than prospects? winning games

I am not sure this is a factor, is it? Does every prospect on the roster have a contract? I don't believe that Chechelev does.

I'm just reading about LW Evan Boucher. He's 6'3"212lbs, and apparently he skates well, has an elite shot, and plays a skilled, heavy game. I like him already.

I’m excited to see some lines. I’m looking forward to watching Wolf, Poirier, Schwindt, Pelletier, Zary and Kerins. To a lesser extent, I’m also curious about Nikolaev, Kuznetsov, Beck and Sedoff.

Ya middling team for the last 20 years with a weak farm system to change that in the future. Glad you enjoy mediocrity, personally I don't believe in second place trophies but you do you pal.

Sorry for the opinion fellas, just don't see our prospect pool as promising as some of you, how many times have we seen good prospects flame out, too many for me, that's why I fail to get excited about anything in our pipeline until we see it at a NHL level. We've had more promising prospects in the past than these guys who failed miserably allow me to throw a few names that were hyped like crazy on this site, Ryan Howse, Sven Baertschi, Jon Gillies, Patrick Sieloff, Emile Porier, Tyler Parsons, Jusso Valimaki, and thats just recent, we can go back further. Again, just my opinion, flame away

Watched him @ the prospects camp this summer.
He was easily a standout "walk on" guy that caught my eye, very good skater and was seemingly always part of the play anytime he was on the ice. Probably a top 5 performer at Camp.

Guy looks like he could cut it in the AHL at the very least, hoping he gets a contract.

Also excited to see Jeremie Poirier at camp and hopefully main camp.
Really want to see how he stacks up against the men, I have high hopes that he turns into the JG of our Defense group.

My post was also responding to the guy who said there was only one interesting prospect - I was adding to your post. But obviously it didn't come across that way.
