Hey, if it’s tweeted it must be true.

I’ve seen tweets suggesting those aren’t their real names because they’re Mexican immigrants and countless others from Americans mocking our gun laws as too strict because… they used a knife?

Maximum stupid.

Oof.

@Devin_Heroux:
New details:

Saskatoon Police confirm they’ve been searching for Myles Sanderson since for three months.

A Crimestoppers bulletin was issued in late May — "unlawfully at large."

Sanderson had been serving an almost-five-year federal sentence.

Almost-five-year federal sentence for assault, robbery, mischief and uttering threats.

Sanderson made parole, and then disappeared.

Bulletin was issued May 27th.

There is a Parole board someplace that's probably sweating this.

"Yes...he is no longer a threat to society."

Narrator: "He was."

I'd say they're likely to get fired but this is Canada, they'll likely be asked politely not to do that again.

A lot of disturbing aspects around this one.

Particularly the lack of details or updates yesterday, and the fact that they used outdated photos that wouldn't allow any one to ID the one guy based on how he looks now. Reddit had to come to the rescue on that one, pretty sad.

Some questions there for sure but whether this was at 2/3rds of his sentence or his full sentence I’m not sure that 16 months makes a difference here. Parole in general makes the transition back to society more seemless. If you want longer sentences the solution isn’t get rid of parole it’s make sentences longer.

Unless someone was seeking dangerous offender status this guy was getting out shortly.

Likely knew exactly where he was, but didn't want to go get him.

One thing is for sure, there will be zero accountability for any of this.

I have a feeling that some people on the reserve where the killings began had a good idea of where he was spending his time since his release.

One day of investigating and taking action could have likely prevented this.

Really don't want to derail this thread too much but Perhaps youre right, but then again I really believe any FN on reservations would rather not answer the door or lift a finger to help RCMP at all. I'm only echoing many FN friends and family sentiments when it comes to the RCMP across AB and BC.

I dont think there's a more hostile relationship in Canada.

Perhaps that came at too high a price yesterday.

Will be interesting to see if this is credible at all as I see nothing from more mainstream news sources to support this.
Literally idiots making hay over a bad situation.

I feel like my phone always goes off a full minute before everyone else's, guess I'll have a headstart on the apocalypse.

It's interesting at the airport, you hear a few early ones then a huge wave of phones as they hit Telus/Bell.

This time I got a notification like a good 1-2 min on my phone before the heart attack alarm went off on the same phone

That definitely woke me up during my nap while watching the Stamps game. Hope they catch these guys ASAP. I had a similar notification in Montreal a couple days ago for a completely different incident, crazy to all of a sudden get two of these types of notifications within a couple days of each other in different parts of the country.
