Playing in Europe sounds like a no brainer to me for most players.

Even a minimum salary guy in Edmonton (NHL) probably makes twice as much as an average Swiss player

Imports and NHL-caliber Swiss nationals are paid considerably more than the average Swiss league player. Gregory Hoffman was apparently one of the NLA's highest paid players, earning ~$1.2M before he signed with the Blue Jackets

Without a doubt, an NHL-caliber player like Koskinen is earning at least as much as NHL league minimum to play there.

I'd imagine they are doing everything they can to make John Gibson happen, now that he has announced he is open to being traded.

Just like the tendency here in Calgary, the Oilers love to whip on Goalies that are mediocre, but really not a root of a problem.

Trading him in the division? I'm guessing Anaheim's asking price starts with a couple of first round picks... assuming Gibson would also waive his modified-NTC.

I mean, playing side by side with Mike Smith... who wouldn't want that opportunity?!?

EDIT: According to The Athletic, Gibson has refuted the claim that he has asked to be traded: https://theathletic.com/news/ducks-j.../hdzE21iFtKya/

Quote:
Gibson said he doesn’t have much of a presence on social media and that he first learned of the trade speculation when his agent, Kurt Overhardt, called him.

“All of the rumors that I got in a call from Kurt yesterday are false because I haven’t had a conversation with anybody there,” Gibson said, talking from Pittsburgh where he spends his offseason. “None of that is true.”
