Don't forget why we called him Big Save Dave in Calgary. I'm not saying he will revert back but saying he is brutal is a bit premature. I feel terrible for Saros. He has had a super year. But there is a reason they play the games. Go Flames, no matter who we get and which goalie is in net.

Wouldn't we rather play Dallas anyway? Like, regardless of the who's in net for Nashville.
I would think so.. the worse team... and who knows maybe Saros comes back from game 3 and changes the whole momentum for that series?
Great banter, but at the end of the day it is what it is.. reminds me of the bubble year, a lot of us celebrated that the stars came back late to beat the blues so that meant we would play the stars, canucks play the blues. We were all happy.. 2 weeks later- Stars beat us and the Canucks beat the blues...

he was never all that good if we are being honest...we just forgot what actual good goaltending looked like

I mean, the Preds are still a pretty good team with any goalie in net, but they aren't good enough to win a playoff series unless they have Saros available. High ankle sprain means he's likely done for the year because white tissue takes a long time to heal due to low blood supply. It's also indicative of instability between the fibula and tibia, meaning the entire ankle won't support his weight and he'll have no ability to push off to get across the net.
That's pretty much the end of Saros this year, and probably the Preds as well. Sucks to get an injury like that a few days before the playoffs begin.
The Preds were in 1st place in the conference at the halfway point of their season on January 15th. It's hard to believe because it seems like the Avs have been there all season.
Since January 15th, they have been barely over 0.500 and would be on pace for 10th overall in the conference (both Winnipeg and Vancouver would be ahead of them).
It's hard to say for sure what the Preds are. Are they a 1st place team that had bad luck in the second half, or are they below playoff quality? I tend to go with the more recent results, but I haven't followed them enough to know for sure. Without Saros in net, I can't see them making it far at all. I really hope that they manage to finish ahead of Dallas as since January 15th, Dallas has been on pace to finish 5th overall in the conference.
Edit: I was being lazy. Looking at actual winning percentage, Nashville would be ahead of Winnipeg since January 15th going by winning percentage, good for 9th OA in the West.

Tkachuk will get into Rittich's mind and get him off his game. Tkachuk is good at that already, but likely knows which buttons to push. There are no buddies in the playoffs.

I have a feeling Tkachuk knows exactly how to make his ol’ buddy Rittich flip his lid. And we all know it’s not hard. Love the guy. But he’s gonna get burnt hard.
Is this guy reporting this legit? I see he's not verified on Twitter. Maybe he's a writer for a fan site? Honestly don't know, I couldn't find this being reported by anyone else.

Connor Ingram isn’t just some AHL rando, he was lights out in Milwaukee in 2019/20 but then he went into rehab last year (I think — something to do with the NHL players assistance program). I don’t think they want to rush him into the NHL but at this point they have nothing to lose — Rittich has been average at best this year.
Rittich is a competent goalie. I don't see any reason why the Preds still couldn't be a tough out with him in net. I'd feel the same way about the Flames with Vladar in net, he's still going to give them a chance.
Dallas is still an easier series physically and they don't have Josi. Flames should be able to beat either but I still see Dallas as a potentially shorter, less gruelling series.

I would rather play Nashville with Rittich in net.
Which pains me to say because I love that guy.
But right now he's not a good goalie.
rittich won't be in net i bet. We were very lucky to beat trashville 1of3 games this season, they gave us trouble this year. Along rough series with those cheapshot artists could really wear us down making us vulnerable to injury.
Does anyone know when/how it happened? I recall the Flames broadcast couldn't find any specific moment or contact that led to him leaving last game.
I’m no expert but I’ve never heard of someone getting a high ankle sprain without contact. And when there is contact, usually it’s immediate and apparent what the injury is.
Not sure exactly what might have happened but I’m sure we’ll find out afterwards…
Best guess I've seen is this vid, the play right before he goes out he slides into the post a little hard and seems to like, catch an edge off the post almost? Maybe catches a blade in the net? Looks like nothing live but could certainly see how that'd mess up an ankle. Watch his left leg. Next whistle is when he goes off
