Wasn’t that the only time they were a good team and went on a run in the last 6 years?

78 points and 1 point behind the Flames is a run?

Game 7 of the second round of the playoffs winning more playoff games than any flames team has since 2004 is a run no? You picked the one year they were a decent team in the last 7.
Whatever though Canucks suck and Flames hopefully remind them that tonight. It is fun to pour some salt in the wound by having former players of theirs perform extremely well in red

Well it's a great thing it's not a playoff game tonight!
Well the Flames better win. If they lose to the Canucks tonight they will need to win another 8 straight to get the sour taste out of our mouths!

Am I crazy or am I reading a bunch of double agent pro-Canuck posts on a Flames board?
Wtf. V=NG.
Hope the Flames give them a textbook Sutter game to remind them of that.

Additionally.
The Flames in '86 lost game one of the 11 in a row to Vancouver and beat them to end the streak in game 12.
Can't quite repeat history flip flopped though because there's isn't another game before tonight's game ... but still interesting first win this year was against Vancouver, and they could make it 11 against Vancouver.

Heading to the game tonight!
Last game I went to was Feb 8, 2020 Flames at Canucks; right before covid.
Feels very nice to be going to a Flames game again.

Best part of that 11 game losing streak? The guy that finally snapped it is little guy folks may have heard of... he was 23 years old and was called up to play against the Russians in an exhibition game a couple days prior, and upon managing to win that game, won a chance to start against the Canucks in what many hoped would not be their 12th straight loss.
Not only did he beat the Canucks to snap the streak, but he went on to finish the season without losing a single game he started, and was named the #1G at the start of the playoffs.
He lost in the finals that year in an all-rookie matchup against future arch-nemesis Patrick Roy, but he'd be back three years later to beat Roy for our only Cup so far. Incidentally, he only lost SIX games that season. SIX. What goalie starts 47 games and only loses six?
Nobody does that. Nobody other than Mike Vernon.

I hope that Vancouver plays well enough to give themselves false hope that they might still be able to make a playoff push this year, but still lose the game. I much prefer the 6-2 type of win where the team is up 4-1 halfway thru the game. But I'd be happy to win this one 4-2 because the Flames score with 30 seconds left in the game and get the empty net goal.

So many great moments playing the Canucks.
Martin Gelinas in game 7 with Jovo in the box.
Torts v. Hartley - "I gotta protect my team"
Of course the epic game 6 comeback win with the biggest goal Matt Stajan has ever scored. The Dome was rocking that night.
One of my favourites - the Flames had already clinched and we played a meaningless game against VAN - Trevor Linden's final game (at lease against the Flames).
Iggy and Regher led the team back onto the ice to shake Linden's hand.
Other teams have similarly congratulated retiring players but the Flames might have been the first.

You’d be second to the punch. Cobra Kai never dies.
