I would gladly take Vazquez over El Duque any day of the week as well. I would not really have any desire to have El Duque on my team let alone give up a good pitcher like Vazquez to get him. I think the White Sox got a steal of a deal from Arizona.

I wish there was some way to get Brandon Webb out of Arizona.
He has some real good stuff, and has one of the best Defense/park Adjusted ERAs last season (Because AZ's Defense sucks balls).

That's just messed up... I wonder if Steinbrenner will make Damon cut his hair, and shave his beard...

Apparently he wanted to play for the Yanks or the BoSox. I heard an interview with him after the signing where he mentioned that he would have signed with the Sox had they "stepped up to the plate". Apparently he got tired of waiting...for either a good offer, or actually any offer. Not sure.
Take it for what its worth, anyways.

"I told you to trim those sideburns, Mattingly! That's it, you're off the team!"

Damon. Great lead off man, maybe the best...
Crappy arm. Throws whiffle-balls to the infield.
An upgrade on the aging Williams.
NY the early favorite in 2006!!

I heard a couple of times this afternoon on ESPN radio that the O's and Phillies are talking about a Tejada for Abreu trade. Tejada would move to the 3rd base if he is traded to the Phillies.

D-Rays send both Baez and Carter to LA for Edwin Jackson. Good deal imo for the Dodgers who need help in the pen while they wait for Gagne.

Thought that I would just tuck this in here....Theo is back with the BoSox?

Epstein and Red Sox management issued a joint statement Thursday saying he will return to the organization full-time, but they did not specify his capacity except to say it will be in baseball operations. His return had been rumoured almost since the day he slipped out of Fenway Park wearing a borrowed gorilla costume to avoid the media.

Seems about right for an over-the-hill DH who can't hit anymore and isn't great in the clubhouse.
