Everything else should be traded for max value.
That's a retool, if they traded Gio, Backlund, Monahan, and Gaudreau all for draft picks they'd be idiots.

This team doesn't need to retool. This team has enough of those as it is.

I don’t think the option of rebuilding and keeping Tkachuk go together.

It is a retool but it could include trading our 2 core forwards who have been the faces of the team for the last 6 seasons.

Tank mode in a crappy market is a ticket to wandering the dessert for another 5-10 years with no guarantee we land a franchise or generational talent.

Keep and add picks, don’t sign mid tier free agents, change the core.

This organization just made the playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 08-09 they are not tearing it down

Keep in mind a lot of posts are after a horrible game 6, and might be certain posters feeling a rebuild right now, that might switch over a retool.

As a season ticket holder, I want to see competitive hockey. Rebuild years are tough

On the fence about Gaudreau. Don’t trade him yet unless you get a good return. Selling low on him is the worst thing we can do
IMO Gaudreau has to go. He's just not made for playoffs, which is all that really matters

I'd also add Mangiapane, Valimaki, Lindholm and Hanifin to the keep list

Hanifin looked significantly better without Hamonic holding him back. It would be a mistake to move a 23 year old with nearly 400 games played who is still improving

If we leave Gio exposed, does he even get claimed?

The Flames don’t have a goalie of the future (Wolf is too far off to be counted on) and the Flames don’t have a strong enough centre ice position. They have no #1 centreman and no #1 goalie. If you can trade wingers and LHD to get a #1 centre and a #1 goalie, then retool. But I don’t see it. So rebuild.

Rebuild. Use the expansion draft to your advantage to collect assets.

You can even land an Eichel and still be Buffalo.

Who knows when we'll be able to watch an NHL game live. It could be two years.

Ticket sales don't matter.

Rebuild.

Those players were on my definite keeps. Lindholm, Valimak and Hanifin are also players who would be fine to keep on, unless we get a good offer. Mangiapane, I think, has kinda topped out at what he is. A good middle six player, and we can potentially sell high. I love him on the team though, so wouldn’t mind him staying on.

I want to see a cup. I would ####ing sit through 10 years of the worst ####ing hockey ever if it meant that we would win a cup.

Agreed. I don't expect too much more from Mangiapane. I'm much higher on Dube

I think you have to retool while keeping the young guys like Chucky and Rasmus and move out Gio, Johnny and Monahan for picks and bottom out for 2 to 3 years. Fire the goalie coaching and development team, fire the pro scouts.

I mean as far as I can tell the Sedins retired two season ago and it only took the Canucks like 3 yrs and they look far ahead. They were better during the Berruzzi yrs, they were better the Sedin yrs, they are better now. We need better goalie development and better pro scouting.

Each rebuild you'll get a few good peices but you wont get the full deck something needs to change so that they can identify and fill the holes properly. You cant draft every single piece so keep the peices that work move everyone else.
