None of those guys are going to be elite #1 D
They're nice top 4 D and good to have a round but yo really think any of them will be like Makar or Hughes, Karlsson or Doughty?

No, they're top players don't have the 'win at all costs' makeup and you can't teach that. Also a 5 foot 8 155 pound player will never be successful in the playoffs so long as the reffing isn't the same as the regular season. In a flat cap world you can't have a guy making $6-7 million that can't drive the play when the play gets rough and there's no powerplays. Blow it up, it's over for this group.

Our D are the friendliest, most easy to play against D in the league.

Rebuild.
Step 1: find an actual gm. Not a AGM who's resume highlights sate: managed a failing franchise
Keep : tkachuk, Dube, Bennett, Andersson, valimaki, maybe backlund.
Draft a #1 center. Keep rebuilding until you do.

I’m thinking that was Johnny and Monny’s last games here. I’d say highest probability is Johnny is gone. His value will only go down and it’s his last year of his contract coming up.

Find a new team to cheer for. Should have just given in to the threats to move the team. Insured now you get to pay higher taxes and ticket prices to see this dumpster fire of an organization put up games like that. What the ####.

I would have said retool before but I fear the team is actually way further away from success than they appeared to be in the last few seasons. Might have to go rebuild now. They need outright elite players.

Rebuild on the fly. No need to tear it down. Monahan needs to go.
Keep
Tkachuk
Backlund
Dube
Andersson
Bennett
On the fence about Gaudreau. Don’t trade him yet unless you get a good return. Selling low on him is the worst thing we can do

Come on.
I love Andersson, but he will never be a #1 defenceman. Hanifin has been what he is for the last two seasons.
And Valimaki is a complete wild card with his significant injury to even be an impact player in this league.
It's far more likely none of these guys develop into #1 defencemen than even one developing into a #1.

I say rebuild but unless were getting a top 3 it just seems so pointless. Is there any up and coming sure thing generational players on the horizon?

If they'd just done it properly the first time instead of taking shortcuts we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Looks like most people want a rebuild. How do you get managment to do it thought? Post an add somewhere, do we try to make the news, spam BT with emails begging him to do it, season ticket owners hitting them in the pocket where it hurts the most?

Retool. Lots of good pieces here. Need to know what JG's intentions are. If you are unsure he is staying you deal him, if you can sign him I think he is a dynamic player that can help you win but not with Monahan who absolutely needs to go. He does not skate well and he is beyond bad in the games that matter. I would not be opposed moving Gio either if he can get a good return as he is starting to fall off a cliff. Would be nice to also have a solid goalie. I thought Talbot played well for the most part and would not be opposed to him returning. Also get a decent coach, Ward is just not a good head coach. So absolutely must do's are trade Monahan and bring in a quality head coach.
