This is why emotional responses minutes after seeing a hit in a game on the TV is silly. Glad to hear he won't be out until the second round of the playoffs like some claimed in the game thread.

Looks like he’s okay but it would be nice sit him out until the playoffs begin.

If he can play he should, to get his timing back and avoid those hits.

So it sounds like MacDermid might actually be the one who is really injured. That's a twist. Hope MacDermid is alright.

I think until Sam has a day or two under his belt you won't know how bad the concussion or bell ringing was. Concussions often have an echo effect. Still good news that he seems ok now.

It is a good reminder of why you rest your stars in these kind of games.

How many call-ups have the flames used? There isn't a lot of muscle left in Stockton but calling up a guy like Scott Sabourin for a single game nhl taste against Edmonton seems like a good idea.

Scrap that thought Sabourin is on an AHL deal. That last game worries me a bit. Edmonton is going to be running around for sure. Kassian is one of the biggest morons in the league. Not much to gain in that game for the flames and bit of an injury risk. Hopefully goes smoothly.

Too bad, because Sabourin is a good technical fighter.

Well he must be concussed since Eric Francis cleared him, since Eric is wrong about 100% of what he says.

Are we able to bring peluso up for the oilers game? #### for brains Kassian is usually quiet as a mouse when there is one or more guys bigger than him in the lineup. Caveman Milan may still be up for some rough stuff (to his credit he usually does not not back down, unlike Kassian) but with Prout and Peluso we can handle him.

I thought Peluso is injured?

Bennett was looking great before that hit. We are going to need him in the playoffs, he’s a big part of this team. This is coming from someone who has previously been a big Bennett hater. His game is really coming along.

Yes, he had season ending surgery on his shoulder I believe.

I hope Benny is ok. Will see how he feels when he gets up in the morning. But I presume he passed the initial concussion protocols from Peters statement.

I’ve been rocked like that before in hockey in my past and my legs were jello and I was seeing stars for a moment. However, I was fortunate not to have a concussion. So it is possible for Sam to be ok. Might have just had his wind knocked out along with a short term loss of leg stability.

Just out of curiosity: how are you all defining concussion?

I'm skeptical Bennett will return within the next two games. He looked like he didn't even know which city he was in, and these things have residual effect.

Crappy thing to happen in a meaningless game. Hopefully he'll be ready for game 1 of the playoffs.

Man, he may not pick up a lot of points but Bennett is a tough little bugger. I thought for sure he’d be out until the 2nd round minimum after seeing that hit.

I've taken a hit like that before, and getting right up I had no vision at all - everything was black. It was a headrush, with a migraine and you can't breathe. If Benny is still playing I'd imagine that's what he was going through, but I'm surprised he didn't puke!

I nearly filled a fishbowl like that.

Oilers and especially Kassian will be halfway out the door for that game. They will just want it over with. I doubt anything comes of it.

yup. Why risk an injury just before the start of golf season?
