Wow, I could have sworn blind he called the Anaheim series. Crazy. I do remember the call for Russell’s goal in game 1 v Vancouver.

Cole at 200 would still out call Romanuk.

Unfortunately, I worry with how good Ball is that he will be fast-tracked to the National broadcast team, and leave the Flames once again with a bad B-crew.

So instead of treating Cole like a professional and letting him know he wasn’t doing the playoffs they basically moved his desk to the basement, took away his stapler and figured it would just work itself out?

I'm not surprised that a big corporation treated someone like a number. This goes beyond hockey, but you see how good people in large corporations more and more are given just a "do-your-job-and-shut-up" type of attitude over time. The attitude of we as a corporation don't owe you anything beyond a paycheque isn't healthy as a society. CBC was doing that a few years ago as well, and it's occurring in every large corp. It's just the reality of the dog eat dog world we're all in. Cole deserves much better.

Chris Cuthbert is hands down the greatest there is and I personally find any other opinion hilariously misguided.

Plus he’s the best in two separate sports.

A great multi sport commentator. A rare breed indeed.

Ball is probably the best PBP announcer there is. Definitely the best I’ve ever heard aside from Ed Whalen or Peter Maher and those guys are legends.

Hrudey is probably the best colour guy I’ve heard too. We really are very fortunate. How often do you ever hear of people complaining about either of them?

Never? That’s because they’re the best.

Cuthbert is amazing though, agreed. Loubardias as colour is okay, would be amazing if he sped up hos words a bit. Talks a touch too slow for my liking but super knowledgeable and delivers infectious positivity.

It was the first time we’d heard him call a flames playoff series for a long time (could be as long ago as 2004, as we always seemed to get stuck with Mark Lee) and he didn’t disappoint.

Pretty sure Cuthbert called the Flames and Hawks series in 09.

TSN carried that series(very rare for them to get a Canadian team) and I’m almost certain it was Cuthbert and McGuire.

Never been overly impressed with Hrudey on color. He’s best suites on the panel.

I am upset with Calgary being left out of playoff broadcasts most years...
