I hope Rick Ball gets another series in round 2. He's really great, and listening to all the different crews so far it shows how lucky we are as Flames fans with our regional tandem.

I feel we earned it after dealing with the trifecta of Loubo, Kerr and Simmer for so long
Loubo was a legend. Kerr was not and Simmer either. But hands off Loubo as play by play!
Ehhh, I preferred Millions over him. However, I will say that I like his insights as color guy on the radio, so I think he's better suited for that role.

My wife might say Christian Louboutin is a legend but he's not connected to hockey so Im not sure what youre talking about. Theres no hockey Loubo I can think that anybody would call a legend.

There are others that can do his job better than he can now. The guy is 84 years old. He had a great run. But give someone else a chance to have a career.

Agreed, but do it respectfully. The guy has been a loyal servant for years.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Bob Cole is a legend and still is one of the best broadcasters available, but isn't he over 80? Sportsnet might be worried about his health.
If he's a starting goalie, sure, but unless health doesn't let you call a game, an employer really can't withhold a job position on health fears alone due to being an octogenarian. Ageism laws and all that. Though very difficult to prove.
I'm surprised he's not calling the Leafs series, especially.
Everyone is assuming they didn't try to send Bob Cole into a respectful and graceful retirement, only to have him refuse and insist he keeps working (which, considering he's 84, seems likely). A company just has to pull the plug eventually.

The NBC broadcast of Vegas/LA, unfortunately SNET's broadcast is Randorf...
Cuthbert is definitely one of the best. I'll always think of 2004, specifically the OT winner in Vancouver when I hear his voice.
Cuthbert is fantastic, always love his play by play and he is extremely knowledgeable about the game as well. He called the Flames-Ducks series for NBC in 2015 and his call on the Backlund Game 3 OT gave me chills. Will always remember it. It was the first time we’d heard him call a flames playoff series for a long time (could be as long ago as 2004, as we always seemed to get stuck with Mark Lee) and he didn’t disappoint.

Dave Strader (RIP) called the Anaheim series, not Cuthbert:
Cuthbert called the USA/NBC broadcast of the Vancouver series though:
