You forgot Pittsburgh. Brassard is no slouch to have has your 3C.

wonder if Tampa's best move would be to do nothing, though.
something playing the hand you have is the best move. maybe something small to bolster depth.

I’m very skeptical of the Blue packing it in, wouldn’t surprise me if they trade for Evander Kane and use the pick they just got to do it.

The type of team that folds like a cheap tent when up by two in the last 30 seconds.

Don't be that team.

Excellent move by Winnipeg.

Stastny is a guy that has become pretty forgotten about over the years but he is definitely a ģreat two way center.

The Schenn acquisition maybe makes that possible, but if I were a Blues fan, I would feel much better about Stastny as my 2C vs. Berglund.

St.L last 6 games:

Sun 2/11 vs PIT L 1-4
Tue 2/13 @ NSH L 3-4 (OT)
Fri 2/16 @ DAL L 1-2
Tue 2/20 vs SJ L 2-3
Fri 2/23 vs WPG L 0-4
Sun 2/25 @ NSH L 0-4

Hard schedule but a stark evaluation of your team against the big boys.

They get a first round pick for a UFA and maybe a shaken up more relaxed team goes on a 20 game run like the Flames did without Gio.

The Flames beat the Coyotes and Avs and are ready for a good run now that they have added Stewart.

Yeah Stastny to Berglund is a pretty major downgrade if they are really going for it. I think they're pulling the Lightening maneuver and not pushing hard this year, hoping they rebound hard next season.

Holy that's a great move by the Jets. They are neck-and-neck with the Penguins for the title of best forward group in the league - that top nine is filthy. The probable series between two of Nashville, Winnipeg, Vegas is going to be tremendous hockey.

Steen can also play center if needed.

Great hockey move for StL in getting a 1st in a year when they don't expect to make noise. It lessens their playoff chances, but isn't a complete firesale

Wouldn't be surprised if the Blues use that 1st as part of a bid for Karlsson at the draft.

Vegas? I still don't see that. The Pacific division in the playoffs is very much up for grabs.

Except it doesn't work that way, does it?
Only first round guarantee to stay in division, other than wildcard.
Or maybe I misremember

@jprutherford Schenn on Stastny trade: “Crazy. One or two points out, move a guy that does a lot for us. But at the end of the day, you know, that’s their decision. I guess we’ll see what happens here within the next hour.” #stlblues

This is such a big trade. Didn't see this coming at all.

We give Chevy a hard time for not doing a lot, but when he sees an opportunity like this year, he goes hard for it. Have to give him credit on this deal, even if the cost is high. Getting the Blues to retain salary helps a lot.

Jets top 9 might be the deepest in the league after this

Would love to see them and Nashville go after it in round 2

Best trade of the day. Jets looking poised for a long playoff run - assuming their goaltending holds up.
