Drug dealers that sell killer drugs like the current batches of drugs that are killing people outright are the worst scumbags on the planet and should be tossed off of cliffs.
Legalizing drugs like coke and crack and the other hard drugs that do massive mental and physical harm is outright stupid.

Dude, think about what you're writing. Do you think liquor companies have quality control out of the goodness of their hearts? Would they still have it if booze was illegal? Look at the gangsters who were prominent during prohibition and tell me they were somehow a better class of people than someone like El Chapo.
Cocaine and heroin aren't designed to be highly addictive anymore than tobacco and alcohol are. That's just silliness.
You clearly have some kind of double-standard when it comes to booze vs. hard drugs that isn't really based on evidence or reason and that's fine, but just be intellectually honest about it.
You could legalize crack and heroin tomorrow, lace every batch with fentanyl and sell it at 7-11 and it wouldn't even come close to touching the death and misery inflicted on society by alcohol.

I would assume that if drugs like cocaine were ever legalized a company like acme products would sell it in a retail market and it would go thru a quality control process. To me the only potential gain out of legalizing drugs lie, this would be putting the drug dealers out of business.
To me legalizing hard drugs like this is way more than I want the government to do; however, at it very core is cocaine really that much different than liquor? Both can be addictive. Both can ruin lives.

Something that's backed up by evidence? In 2013, 3.1 million Canadians drank enough alcohol to be at risk for immediate harm, while 4.4 million drank enough to be at risk for chronic health effects. Cocaine and heroin use will never touch those numbers.

Unless, like you said, coke and heroin are laced with fentanyl and sold at 7-11, thus changing absolutely everything about the way people consume it. Your evidence is based on a 2010 British study that suggested alcohol is worse than those two hard drugs in particular. It's bogus info and needs to not be spread about anymore.

So what exactly is the logic behind legalizing something, known to be bad just because we already have something bad legalized? Isn't that like arguing we might as well legalize automatic machine guns since Rifles and Shotguns kill more people in Canada every year?
As for the argument that it'll push out the criminals. If criminals are anything, it's resourceful and highly adaptive, much more so than big governments. you won't eliminate crime, you'll just push them to something else, something harder, more dangerous, more addictive, more destructive.

This is disingenuous to say the least. If you drink a can of Budweiser, you will not overdose and die. If you use any recreational drug (yes there is even fentanyl laced marihuana showing up now) you are playing Russian roulette. BC is on pace to have more fentanyl related deaths in the next six months than all of last year. Just last week 6 people overdosed and died within hours of each other in Abbotsford.
I’m not saying alcohol doesn’t have long term societal impact, but to essentially downplay the severity of legalizing crack and heroin is farcical.

The logic is to take the profit and quality control out of the hands of organized crime.
