Theo Fleury
Bryan Marchment
Chris Drury
Andre Roy
Jeff Friesen
My list is players that were bad teammates, bad-mouthed the organization, or were cheap-shot artists. Andre Roy I simply disliked because he was absolutely useless in every aspect.

For me it's Marchment, then a huge gap.
Randy Holt (for some off ice stuff)
Rene Bourque (work ethic)
Tony Amonte (attitude)
Sven (fan hype)

I want to put Greg Gilbert but I guess it is players only:
1. Kidd
2. Drury
3. Fuhr
4. Featherstone
5. Peplinski
#5 might seem weird but he was the first player I ever met in person and he was a total dick to me.

in no particular order:
1. Anders Erikkson / Zyuzin - different dmen, same suck.
2. Matt Stajan - i hated that phaneuf trade, but stajan was supposed to be more than what he ever became as a flame. Nice guy & good on the flames for even extending him for a variety of reasons, but can't wait to see him off the books
3. Jay Bouwmeester - Grossly overrated when he got here. Offensive instincts are lacking, lacks any kind of intensity. He is a defensive defenseman who can skate. I give him credit for realizing this, and instead of chasing the money, finding a good spot in St. Loius at a price tag that allows him to play his game.
4. Jokinen - i have one good memory of jokinen. It's his first game as a flame in Philly after the trade where him and iginla had multiple points/goals. Everything after that is crap. hated his game, hated that he was brought back, good riddance.
5. Kotalik - ugh. the player, the transactions he was involved in, all make me sick to my stomach.
6. Tanguay - ya, good player, especially early on. I hated his inability to recognize a shooting opportunity. I hated how he pouted when huselius took over the role as the playmaker on the flames top line.
i probably should add the garbage we got in many trade returns for our primetime 80s teams, but was too young and those wounds have healed. As for the 90s, i moved from calgary for much of the time, and the team was such garbage i had better thigns to do as a teen.

1) Zyuzin
2) Leeman - only because of the trade by a dumb GM
3) Wideman
4) Hiller
5) Housley, Warrener, McEllaney, Ian White, Chris Butler, JayBo, Kotalik - take your pick
Something just bugs the heck out of me with the Flames goalies and d-men they pick up. Top 5 is not enough of a selection for this category.

He might have stuck around in Calgary and he might be the nicest guy ever, but he did nothing for the Flames on the ice.

The main piece coming back was Regehr. Corbet was never supposed to be a top 6 guy, despite his junior stats. He was a 4th year guy who had never scored more than 28 points (he scored 31 the year he came to Calgary). He was going to be like a Yelle.
When he arrived in Calgary, Rene was a full-on NHL grinder: the year prior, he managed 28 points and 133 penalty minutes.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Grossmann yet, he definitely rivaled Eriksson in being terrible at every aspect of the game.

all guys that got paid too much and contributed too little.
Butler and Erikkson were low paid players who were asked to play important roles on the team.

LOL... I love how you have the longest list in this thread and also how you have an on deck list of people you hate. People you don't even know. That's a lot of hate. Your family and friends (if you have any) must love you.

Baertschi honorable mention for his primadonna act. Way more coaches and management i disliked than players though... Bremner, Gilbert, Riser, Sutter all way worse than anybody on that list

Except we didn't know it would be Regehr at the time of the trade. And read your own article that you posted, given his numbers in the minors he totally was expected to become a top 6 guy.

Putting Wideman on the list really devalues his 2014-15 performance where he carried the Flames into the playoffs. He had one of the top 5 best stretch of 30 games by any Flame over the past 10 years.

He played what, 3 games? Hard to hate a guy for playing 3 games and it's not like it was his fault. He didn't sign himself to the contract after looking terrible in the pre-season, that was Treliving.
My top 5 list is.
1. Butler - worst defenceman I've ever watched play
2. Bouwmeester - way too soft and played with zero emotion
3. Bourque - when he was on he was great. The unreached potential and inconsistent play when he had all the physical tools was disappointing.
4. Colborne - see Bouwmeester
5: Erikkson- see Butler

Don Edwards. Good one. I thought the term "sieve" actually meant goalies who let everything through. It wasn't until like grade 5 I realized it had other meanings.

He also broke an official's neck, ending his career, then blamed the "stupid refs and stupid media for it." He could win the Art Ross and Conn Smythe trophy this year, he's still number 1 on my list.

My opinion but I find this thread in bad taste. I can understand the "favorite" threads but "most hated Flames" really? Plenty of ex-Flames that I didn't particularly care for but I don't know how you could hate anyone that played for a team you cheered for.

If they intentionally injured others players, like Bertuzzi and Marchment, or ended the career of an official, like Wideman, I think you can easily hate them.

Wideman is devalued and yet you have Monahan, Gaudreau and Gio on deck?
