Our heat is regulated at 21.5. But in colder months I put the heat pump up to 22.

Yes, a few times now, when it's been very cold. Certain members of the pet population that reside in this house are tropical types, and would have turned into frozen sculptures if we hadn't turned it on. When it's on, it sits around 21-22.

Not yet, I may use the fireplace tonight if it warrants it. But I'm avoiding turning on the Enmax $ tap as long as possible.

Not even close yet to turning on the furnace. Was a balmy 14 in the house Sunday morning as I left all the windows wide open. Put pants on that morning. But otherwise, house stays at 18 during the day, 16 at night.

I'm tempted today, but I don't want to be the first person in Calgary. Guys, what's acceptable here?

Heat setting on the thermostat gets turned off on Victoria day weekend and back on Labor day weekend. Furnace ran briefly yesterday morning.

You sound like you don't have a women in the house. Because that would not fly in my castle.

Between living in a townhouse with poor insulation and the monumental crappy summer weather we had, we never turned ours off.
It usually stayed off on its own 98% of the summer even with how mild it was, then the odd time it was needed it'd kick on for a bit. Wasn't a big deal.

I prefer wearing a hoody to having the heat on. Hoodies are the best.

I grew up with metric, and all I've ever known is Celsius for outdoor temperature, but our thermostat was always Fahrenheit growing up, so I couldn't tell you if 18 or even 24 is really hot or cold for an indoor temperature. Its almost as if there are 2 sets of temperature ranges, completely independant of one another.
My house is set to heat to 67 and cool to 72. Heat hasn't kicked in yet (thanks to 3 stories facing south)

We had not planned on it but then left some windows open the night it went down to 2. Our house was 12 when we got up. Tried to tough it out but it was only supposed to be 14 that day so we gave in and turned it on to get the house up to 20. It's off again now - hopefully until October.

When I start waking up and the thermostat reads less than 15 degrees is when i'll turn it on. When it is on i usually have it set at 18-19degrees

Warm? That place is a blast furnace! I drove through there a couple weeks ago on my way to Vancouver Island. Arrived at our hotel, opened the car door and stepped out and just about melted in the hot wind that greeted me. Even a couple hours after the sun went down the wind was still incredibly hot.

Still?? Is it ever NOT 30+ in southern Ontario this year? We barely even hit 25 this summer, let alone 30 which I'm pretty sure never happened. Unbelievable how different our summers have been.
..I'm also jealous of the types of dudes who "run hot", where 15 degrees is their ideal summer temperature, and they rock shorts in plus 10 like it's nothing. I'm so cold all the time.
