Picked up the 6P on the weekend, what a phone. Was never in love with my Nexus 6, just didn't like it as much as the Nexus 5.. but the 6P is a dream. Beautiful design, slightly longer and not as wide so very comfortable to use with one hand. The fingerprint scanner on the back is intuitive to use and lightning fast. The metal builds looks and feels premium.
The quick charging is speedy and the battery life is great. Obviously it's early in my ownership so battery life tends to fade but so far so good. No wireless charging however. I never used my wireless charger all that much but it was a nice feature to have.
USB Type C is fantastic but switching out all the chargers, cords etc has been a pain, and they're not the most common cable out there yet. So slight caveat there.
I just bought a USB A to USB C adapter so I can still use my old car chargers etc.

I believe new Nexus phones are typically announced in September, so urgency might be an important factor. OnePlus 3's screen is 1080P, so if you value screen clarity, the Samsung's might be a better choice. OnePlus is probably the best bang for your buck phone (with great specs too).

How much truth is there that Verizon phones are already unlocked and work on all Canadian carriers? There are tons of Verizon S7 at decent price on ebay.
Just picked up the s7 edge today at bestbuy. Was waiting for the price to drop and saw it for $100 with a free 128gb SD card and free gear vr. Got the last one left at beacon hill. Seemed a pretty good deal to me! Very impressed with it so far it's a nice upgrade from my s5.
My Nexus 4 is crapping out on me, mainly with deadspots on the touch screen. I can't hit the 9 or letter O key for example... forces me to switch to landscape just for those keys.
Holy hell, still rocking the Nexus 4. And it's only now crapping out on you?
Impressive.
Yeah, it's been fantastic for me. I'm not much of a phone guy so as long as I can use it for a few simple functions I'm happy. Don't even care about storage beyond the basic amount.
But not being able to swipe over certain areas is a huge pain in the ass, it also crashes too often for my liking.
Should I stick with Nexus and go for the 6P instead? Looks like the OnePlus 3 with the charging bundle would come to $594 shipped. Pretty good.

My wife currently has a Nexus 4 and has 2-3 instances of the phone locking up and needing a reboot every day now. The power button only half works as well. It's too bad because the size is literally perfect for her and it still does everything she wants to use it for just fine - if it didn't randomly crash!
I've been slowly convincing her to look at something like the Nexus 5X, but I'm open to suggestions as well for something in that 4.7"-5.0" size range at a good price.
Do a factory reset. My wife's was doing the same and she got a Oneplus X. I took her Nexus 4, reset it and use it now. It only crashes once every couple weeks. But the Oneplus X is a great deal, good size and takes SD cards. Only drawback is the missing radio band.

We did it 6 months ago...right back where we were then. Would have made sense to keep it on KitKat though, as it had none of these issues.
So picked up the s7 edge during bestbuy's friends and family sale. $99 with a free 128gb sd and free gear VR. Waiting for them to get a VR in as I got a raincheck. Just had the sd card delivered to my house.
I was under the impression that the sd card was Samsung branded as they had the Samsung one in all the advertisements. The one that arrived is a silicon-power brand. It does list this on my receipt aswel, I never noticed. Do you guys think there would be a difference in quality or that I should have gotten a Samsung one? Obviously my fault for not paying attention.

Searching back, I can only find the advertisement from Rogers with an image showing the promotion, and that does include a Samsung branded sd card in the image. Don't know about Bestbuy's Friends and Family flyers.
There can be a quality difference though realistically it will be generally unnoticeable. The main differences come down to read and write speeds meaning the time it takes to save info on the card or taking things off it. Honestly, unless you're trying to move 30GB+ amount of content as fast as possible or record 4K video directly on the card you're not going to know the difference.
