They'd be looking for a new general manager after making that deal. Not sure where the back flips come in.

#3 overall doesn't grow on trees...remove Janko from the equation though I missed that the first time

Raymond/#6 for Clarkson/#3

I would do in a second

That would be cool until they lost Puljujarvi because they didn't have enough cap space because of Clarkson.

I say leave it up to Mason himself. Give him 3 options this summer.

1) Mutual termination of his contract. Unlikely, but no harm in putting the option on the table.

2) Find a place to play in Europe, we can put him on unconditional waivers and he will be free to be loaned to a European club for the year. The Flames would be on the hook for $2.2 million against the cap, just like if he got sent to Stockton.

3) He prepares for the season, comes to camp and tries to win a spot out of camp with the risk he could be sent to Stockton.

I say u give him ever opportunity to make the team at camp and if he impress the coaches he makes the team if he beats out the prospects then great u give him ever opportunity to succeed but keep him a a short leash and if his falls flat on his face agin send him to the farm or buy out .

I foresee him playing well in camp and getting a roster spot. Plays well for about 8 games. Plays sufficient for about 15, then gets put on waivers.

Should he be given a shot? Sure. It's not like anyone is going to trade for him, and with 1 year left on his deal it's probably better to ride out the contract than to buy him out.

New coach, everyone gets a clean slate. Bring him into camp and see if he can make the team. There looks to be spots on the wing available.

If he gets beaten out by one of the kids then great, he can get put on waivers and go down. If he doesn't then, well, if the kids can't beat Raymond out for a roster spot then they just aren't ready.

I hope, he will decide his own fate. He should earn a spot as all the players. If he do make a roster then great. If he don't then blame yourself.
Hopefully we will score 20 goals before the trade deadline and we sell him high.

This is really a discussion we should be having after training camp. Like everyone else under contract, I hope he'll be given a fair shot at making the team. If he's one of the best 13-14 forwards at camp, then he should get to stay in Calgary. If not, he should be sent to Stockton.
