What a train wreck of a thread. It did give me a chuckle though. Bouma is on an unfortunately lengthy list of Flames that are not playing up to their contract this year. Trading him now would be selling low but he could be part of a bigger deal someday I suppose.
Really odd.
OP: "Hey everyone, this guy is going to be traded!"
Everyone else: "Doubt it!"
OP: "Yeah, I didn't really believe it from the start!"

I truly believe that media is the primary catalyst that is turning our society into what was portrayed in Idiocracy. It just barely beat out religion for that honor.
If people didn't seek out scandal-mongering stories - lots of people - the media wouldn't post them. It's like blaming McDonalds for people stuffing their faces with fries.

The two Oilers fans who write for sportsnet don't write anything about the flames that isn't negative unless they are so pissed off at their own team that they do it to kick the Oilers in the shins.
I've said it before... Sportsnet should have a flames writer, it doesn't need to be a homer but it should be somebody who at least knows the team and understands, for instance, that Hartley and Treliving love Bouma, and if anything play him in slots above his ability and overpay him.
One incident like this seems really unlikely to be anything more than a stern internal conversation. How many NHL players do you think have had hangovers once in a blue moon, gets dealt with internally and everybody moves on? Non story - unless you're an Oilers fan trying to distract the league or be distracted from your team's 7.5 GAA this weekend!
They probably missed the pre-practice team meeting though, if they were coming in 15 min before the team hit the ice. And in hockey, being on time actually means being 10 min early.
This is correct. Every team has close to a one-hour video scouting session before hitting the ice before practice, so yes, Bouma and Monahan missed that vital part of practice.
I don't think anyone's corrupting anyone and they probably planned to leave for practice while drunk the night before and/or slept in a little longer than they should have. I don't see what the big deal is. They weren't late, just not that early.
Still think some exaggerate Monahans "regression" this season. Last year, he had 31 goals and 62 points ... this year, he's on pace for 25 goals and 56 points. If that's deemed an "off-year", I'll gladly take it.

This indicates to me that Hartley's likely due to be replaced, more so than Bouma.
With Keenan most likely, I'd guess. Who, if I recall, probably would have been hung over as well and texted the players 25 minutes before practice with "Practice delayed til 4pm. Maybe cx'd. Lol".

I was being sarcastic. Since the OP seems to know that Bouma has been a bad influence on Mony.
