Majority of Canadian Conservatives agree with Trump

To bring this back to U.S. politics, the Republican party is essentially a coalition of affluent pro-business types, rural small-government types, and angry social conservatives (with some overlap, of course). The angry social conservatives are becoming increasingly frustrated that they never get their way when the Republicans are in power, and that they're just being used as chumps by the plutocrats who run the party. The Tea Party, and now Trump are the vehicle for expressing their dissatisfaction.

The one thing I did find interesting about this poll, based on what you just described, was that Quebecers were generally more opposed to Trump's comments than the rest of Canada.

Totally, but it's pretty human for your brain to subconsciously extrapolate it. It's also why I get to roll my eyes at all my wonky, leftist friends who post David Avocado Wolfe memes.

I must say, CliffFletcher is one of my favourite posters on political issues. Always rational, ideology-free, rhetoric-free and respectful of the opponent's view. It's a pity we don't have many politicians expressing their views this way.
